Question about Motorcycles
Lights work but im getting no charge back to the battery i have been informed that the lights work off the ac side of the generator and there is a small reg/rec that charges the battery with dc however i am getting no change in battery volts at the terminals. i have changed the reg/rec with my dads ktm 450 they look the same but no change
There should be 3 white wires on both the rectifier and the harness, if the one you switched it with is pinned different then youll still have the problem.

Check for a bad ground. A bad ground will wreak havoc on your charging system and battery. If you find the source of bad ground, you might as well check it with the components that are on there now. The regulator is the component that would most likely have gone bad since it the rectifier were bad, you wouldn't get any DC voltage from the alternator.
