If your carb is clean ..Sounds like you should look at your kill switch ...could be loose wire inside, grounding itself out ...hope this helps! other then that could be starving for fuel (carb adjust)

SOURCE: Hyosun Scooter Carb Adjustments

Very good thought process on the adjustments. The throttle screw sets the idle speed and the air screw sets the fuel mix at idle speed. The stock setting is 1.5 turns outward. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward.

From this point you adjust the idle speed then adjust the air screw for fastest idle speed at that throttle screw setting. If the idle speed becomes faster than desired after adjustment, just reset the throttle screw and then reset the air screw.

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!

Set carb after putting a new kit in

Hi, Herbert the carburetor throttle shaft wheel has two cables the cable closest to the right side of the bike is the throttle cable and the one closest to the left side is the idle cable. Right about the middle between the two is the idle adjustment bolt it faces out towards the air filter end of the carb . The engine should be at operating temperature with the enrichener off to set the idle between 950-1050 rpm. Turn the idle adjustment bolt clockwise to increases idle speed and counterclockwise to decrease idle speed. If you have access to your air fuel mixture bolt you may adjust it as well if not there is a video below on how to gain access, make sure you start with clean or new spark plugs. Gently turn the air fuel mixture bolt clockwise until it starts to bottom out "STOP" do not over tighten as it will damage the taper on the end, now back it out 2 full turns to establish a starting point start the engine and check the idle rpm's and adjust the idle adjustment bolt accordingly for 950-1050 rpm if necessary, adjust the air fuel mixture bolt 1/4 turn at a time and let the engine settle for about 10 seconds, clockwise for a leaner mixture and counterclockwise for a richer mixture you are seeking the highest rpm your air fuel mixture bolt can acquire without going past 3 full turns from bottom then readjusting the idle adjustment bolt back down to 950-1050 rpm If you can not detect any rpm change and can not stall the engine by turning the air-fuel mixture bolt all the way in then your pilot/low-speed jet is too big. Final adjustment should be made with a clean air filter mounted to the carburetor. Good luck and have nice a day.

Honda shadow vt1100c 1986 idile to low after running awhile

There's an idle adjustment screw. The bike runs faster when cold because the fuel\air adjustment is richer on a cold engine. When the bike warms up, the fuel becomes more lean in mixture because the heat causes the fuel to expand, i.e., less molecules of fuel to the firing sequence of the piston. When the bike is warmed up, after say ten minutes, the heat causes a leaner mixture, so adjust the idle on a hot engine (about 1000 rpm more or less). The bike will idle faster when cold, then drop rpm's as the engine warms up. Good luck

How to adjust fuel mixture screw

usually turning screw clockwise sends the main jet down (opening more) getting more fuel through (richer) and opposite is 'usually' for leaner, or 'weaker' mixture...

Has your bike been jetted and tuned to suit new exhaust ?? if not its more than likely your problem.
If it has been jetted to suit you can try adjusting your fuel mixture screw richer or leaner to see if that makes any difference

I have a 88 chev 350 p/u-how do I make the fuel richer or leaner?

1988 should be fuel injected. The ECM controls the fuel mixture and it isn't adjustable. What kind of problem do you have? If it is 1 ton or bigger truck it might have a carburetor. If it does, let me know, I will tell you how to adjust it.
