And you know this how? Are you spraying carb cleaner on the body looking for the leak and it runs better when wet? Tighten all nuts, screws and bolts.

please try using carburretor cleaner.
start the engine and spray fron the air intake a couple of times.
please check the carburettor snokle for wear off or check that the lever that accelerates the car could be tight and gets stuck.usually if excessive air is allowed in the carburettor the rpm will increase so it has to be the carburettor.

How do you know when to de carbon intake and throttle plates

One symptom is low and / or erratic idle speed. Its not a problem to remove the air intake pipe and look oat the throttle plate, if its dirty, clean it, with carburretor cleaning spray, that you can find in most fuel stations or parts shops.
Hope this helps

Homelite ut 10550 engine runs at 60 to 100% of full speed will not idle at less than 60% approx. Adjusting idle screw 'T'has no effect, cleaned filter no change. Saw has only run for about 5 litres of fuel...

Carburretor possibly has a leaking diaphragm. Some workshops will do just a carby repair if you take it in. Enquire at your local service shop.

hi its definatley an air leak if you have replaced the hoses i suggust the next thing you try is see by tighting the carburrettors nuts that hold it to the manifold as these come lose and **** air do the same with the manifold bolts i suspect you will find them loose if not then change the gaskets one at a time with the cheapest first the carburretors then the manifold you may want to go to your car shop and ask for an air leak spray or they may use some other kind of method but basicly you spray it round the carb/manifold and watch to see where the leak is yates210456
