SOURCE: Yamaha Grizzly 600 leaking gas

if the carb was really cleaned out, then i would suspect the float is not set properly (where #14 in the pic meets #19, assuming it is adjustable), the float (#14) has a hole in it and is no longer "floating" which turns off fuel to the bowl when it raises #19 (needle valve) or the needle valve is not connected properly to the float (common problem when reassembling a carb.

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/atlanticcycleandpower/Yamaha_OEM/YamahaATV.asp?Type=18&A=268&B=11&Action=O

one way to check is to remove the float bowl and with your finger, push the float up (it pivots) and turn on the petcock. if fuel still pours out the needle valve, then the needle valve may not be connected properly to the float or the needle valve is worn. if it doesn't pour out, then i would replace the float as it is no longer floating (one way to also tell is if you see fuel inside the float if its plastic) to turn off fuel or adjust the float tang (assuming the float is brass. if its plastic, then there is no adjustment). good luck.

SOURCE: my 1991 yamaha fzr 600 wont start

how long did you let it sit for with gas in the carbs, you may have clogged up your jets. after awile gas will break down and turn into varnish, if your bike trys to push the varnish through the system it will clog the jets. try to take off your seat then remove your plastic over the gas tank. remove the gas tank and you will see four bowls *silver ones right next to where the gas tank is on the carbs*. your bowls are in sets of two. there are drain screws on the bowls to remove the gas inside. remove the 16 screws holding the bowl onto the carb. *4 on each* inside you will see your floats and jets. carefully loosen the jets with a screw driver then finish unscrewing them by hand, they are brass and very soft. you should be able to hold up the jets to the light and see a small pin hole. if not get some carb cleaner and give them a squirt and blow them out. do not try to use anything to clean them out, they are very very sensitive and one knick will change the jet. after that i would spray some carb cleaner up the jet holes and try to clean them out also. if you have a compressor it would be wise to use that to blow out the gunk from the jet holes as well. after you run threw all 8 jets put them back together and see how it goes, if nothing you may have to check the jets again and if clogged again your carbs are gunked up and will need to be cleaned

SOURCE: 2005 grizzly 660 rear drive shafts pop out of the gear box a lot

There should be a circlips at the end of the driveshaft.
That circlips holds the shaft IN the differential parts.

If you have still warranty, let it repair by a dealer. The circlips is maybe INSIDE the differential casing and can thus destroy a lot of parts!

A 2004 bear tracker and rebuilt carb. I used my lawnmower battery to crank the engine and while running, the CDI box began to smoke. with battery dissconnected, the CDI box continued to smoke. why?

Hi, Donald you may have fried your CDI box and it needs to be tested and or replaced for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. You can bypass a capacitor-discharge ignition (CDI) box temporarily for troubleshooting for a 2003 grizzlie 4 wheeler 4x4.replaced the stator and coil still wont start

Hi Vickie the CDI cannot be by passed the signal from the stator is different to the signal required to power the coil. The only way to bypass is change the whole system which would be costly and difficult to source parts.

Why is my 97 Honda 4 wheeler not getting fire

There are three items that are connected together needed to create spark on your 1997 Honda 4-wheeler, regardless of which model it is.
Before we go through a checklist of these three important parts, look for a black wire with a white stripe that runs to the ignition switch and kill button from the CDI box. Disconnect this wire before it gets to the ignition switch and kill button, then check for spark. The most likely cause is a broken kill switch on the handlebar, or shorted ignition switch. Such a condition grounds this wire and kills the spark.
If this test did not restore the spark, continue reading...
Here is what is required to create a spark.

First, the alternator has one coil which generates a high voltage--about 125 Volts AC for the CDI ignitor box.

Second, there is a pulse voltage generated once every revolution of the engine that goes to the CDI box. This pulse causes the CDI to dump its stored energy from the 125 volt line into the primary of the ignition coil.

Third, If the two connections of the wire that runs from the CDI to the Coil are BOTH SHINY clean, the ignition coil will generate a spark.

If any one of these 3 don't happen, the spark will go away. Of these three, item 3 -- one or two tarnished and/or dirty connectors -- is the most likely cause. Just an added resistance of 0.3 Ohms or more in the CDI to Coil connections will cause the ignition to fail. No other wires have to be this clean.

Will a yamaha 350 warrior cdi work on a yamaha 350 motot 4 they look exatly the same

I would call the dealer and have them check the part numbers. If the part numbers match then yes you can. Alot of the time the only difference is the connector. Yamaha has alot of interchangeable parts but the safest way is to verify the part numbers. If you just " try it " and they don't match you just may have fried the cdi box and you'll be trying to troubleshoot a bad part that you think is bad.

Where can I find the exact timing sequence for a suzuki four wheeler

every four wheeler I've ever worked on has the ignition timing fixed and controlled by the CDI. Mechanical timing usually invovles lining up the T on the flywheel with a mark on the cam shaft. you'll need a service manual for more specifics.

I have a 125 grizzly wont fire brand new cdi. Took off batery while running. Now no fire from coil

The battery on most new motorcycles is required as a smoothing device and is always the first thing to feed the bike electrics. The alternator is mainly used to charge the battery. There is a very good chance that you have fried the CDI again.
