I have a 1999 VW Beetle and it's not running on all 4 cylinders. It's only running on 3 cylinders.

Probably runs better on three cylinders than most american made cars do on four! LOL.

Is that cylinder getting spark? Is the injector working? Plug fouled?

Started sputtering back fireing I think its only running on one cylinder.coil or fuel pump ? I changed plugs no change.please help.

Try swapping over the coils. You will need to completely swap over, not just the HT leads. There should be 2 electrical wires that push onto contacts for each coil, swap these to the other coil along with the plug leads. If it doesn't change anything (i.e. still runs on the SAME one cylinder) then there is nothing wrong with the coils. If, however it runs on the other cylinder, then the coil feeding the non-running cylinder is faulty.
Won't be the fuel pump as it is feeding the running cylinder and there isn't a separate pump for each cylinder. However, fuel may not be getting to the non-runner and that is most likely carb related IF you have more than one carb. I have 4 but some multi cylinder bikes may only have a single carb.

1200 sportster not running on back cylinder

Verify the cylinder is not firing by measuring the temperature on the exhaust right out of the cylinder. If it is not firing the tempature will be much cooler than the front cylinder. Once you have determined the rear cylinder is not firing then you need to perform a compression test on the rear cylinder. If it is not with in specifications, you may have broken rings, burned valves or hole in piston. Until you run compression test you will not know which way to go.

Only running on the number 1 cylinder and 4 cylinder

One coil works #1 and #3 cylinder and the other one works #2 and #4, it could be a bad coil or fouled plugs on the dead cylinders.

Does any one know the torque settings for the rear wheel spindle nuts on a cm125?

try 8.5-10.5 kgf m using torque wrench or just turn the nut slowly until it reches the point where more effort is required, just add 1/4 turn and that should be just about right. Good enough?
