SOURCE: I need the valve adjustments for a honda 1100 goldwing

i think you will find that like the 1200 there is no valve adjustment..well there is but not in the normal locknut screw adjustment that we are all familiar with,,they are a shimmed "no lash"hydraulic system,,you can buy the shims from your local honda dealer but they only come in 1mm steps i took 4 new ones to an engineer and got them taken down to 1/2 mm thickness this made a big difference, they are quite easy to do just take some time to get right, but once done they should do 50-60000km before needing looking at again..hope this helps

IT does not go forward but go in reverse sound like it slipping not sure if its clutch or transmisson

There is usually a linkage from the reverse knob that moves a lever on the transmission housing and shifts you into reverse. If this linkage gets out of adjustment or gets bent, you will get a reverse gear slippage. Follow the linkage all the way from the knob to the transmission housing and examine it for damage first. Then you may try adjusting it yourself or having it serviced. I hope this helps.

Fz1 idle adjust

fiddly job
but easy to do
remembering what bolt and plug goes where
you will have to remove your petrol tank and air filter box
fuel tank has 3 bolts 1 at the bottom 2 at the top by the head stock
slowly remove the fuel tank remembering to turn off the stop tap
and remove the fuel pipe and the fuel gauge sensor wire

air filter box
under the air filter box
there are four banjo clamps
that hole the air intake tubes to the carburetors
undo these four screws and remove the air filter box

you will then see where your idle cable is located
just replace the idle adjust cable and reassemble the
air filter box and fuel tank in the reverse way you took it apart

I have to put a new clutch lever on my 2009 sportster xl 1200 the one on there broke off when the bike fell over.

You will need to loosen the cable adjustment off all the way. Then you will need to remove the snap ring and pull the pin out and then pull the handle off and remove the nylon pin to release the cable from the handle and do not drop any of these parts and then put the new lever on, reinstall the parts in the reverse order and adjust the cable so there is 1/16 to 1/8 inch freeplay at the cable and perch area.

GL1500 Reverse doesn't work

Hi, Dell before testing any electrical component in the Reverse System it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead acid batteries otherwise the usual suspects are:
1. The reverse electric motor fuse was blown.
2. Reverse button stuck in the depressed position.
3. Run/off switch in the off position.
4. Bike not in neutral.
5. Faulty relay, reverse actuator, solenoid, regulator module,
6. Wire connectors in the reverse system faulty due to corroded, bent, broken, loose, retracted or missing wire pins and sockets.
7. Reverse cables not properly adjusted.
8. Faulty reverse lever components.
9. Reverse lever not in the on position.
10. The side stand is in the down position.
11. The reverse motor has failed and needs an overhaul.

My car will not start unless I push the shifter allt he way up into PARK

sounds to me like you need to have shifter cable or park neutral position switch adjusted. The car is thinking that you are in "reverse" and it will not start. When you push the shifter forward it turns off the signal telling the car that it is in reverse and it will start, because you are putting pressure on it making it think that it is in "park"

Gl1800 reverse stopped working. I haven't used the bike since last oct/nov and everthing else seems ok. presume reverse must have same fuse as starter motor but not shore. Any ideas?

There is host of problem incured with this. The linkage to the starter motor maybe out of adjustment. The switch push for reverse and the light will come on the dash. That switch can cause problems. The whole switch assembly has to be change/not cheap. Try some WD-40 and work the switch back in forth. Go to Goldwing Goldwing there are good help manuals for all goldwing. To check reverse start motor and leakage require a lot of space.

I have a 1984 90 horse Mercury outboard motor and for some reason, the cable pushes it in forward and pulls it in reverse but if you adjust it, you run out of cable and the adjustment falls off. If I...

If there is a difference in end play see if there is more play in the throttle cable than in the shift cable. It may be switched in either the motor end or the shifter box. Or a gear inside the shifter (less likely) is reversed. The only other idea I have is if that does not work to test the location of the shifter and let it hang down freely. The cables are grouped in sizes like 15 to 17ft, 17 to 19ft, and so on for a reason.
