Question about 2000 Honda CA 125 Rebel

1 Answer

Last night my boyfriend turned on his honday rebel 125 and it seemed to start up but then cut out. When he tried again all he got was a sort of ticking noise. It's the same today. Any suggestions on what it might be? Thanks Lindsey

Possibly a dead battery. Ticking noise os probably the solenoid engaging but dropping out with not enough power to turn the engine over.

Check all wires around the cylinder head. one may have burned or melted. also probablly a good idea to get a compression leakdown test done on the cylinders. Smoke and knocking usually ends up in cylinder damage.

Dashboard lights are out and rear lights, also a pulling sensation when changing gears especially and a horrible sort of screeching noise when I start the engine!!

You aren't alone with your lights problem . Mu '59 Picanto did exactly the same thing last night. No dashboard, heater, or air vent illumination and worse still no rear lights (note brake lights do work). Got home switched off everything, then switched back on and all working. Very strange.

I had the same message on my EOS/Rebel XTI and the camera shop concluded that one of the pins where the card is inserted into the camera had come loose. They sent the camera back to Canon for repair. Luckily, it was still under warranty at the time.
