The water coming out of the tail pipe could just be condensation.

Yamaha 115 4 stroke. Found a couple of quarts of water in oil. Compressions are around 150 all cyl. Thermostats was found stuck open. Where's the water coming from?


check around the back of the water pump impeller for corrosion holes that will be leaking water to the sump
could be corrosion around the oil holes in the head gaskets
talk wit a service center as it may be a common problem and they will be able to give you a closer idea

I have had problems with the water boiling in the reservoir, whilst trying to find the problem the bike dumped water into the oil, how could I identify a bust water feed pipe some ?


I'm thinking that you have a head gasket problem for the water to be boiling in the reservoir which eventually failed allowing the water to get to the oil return galley for the sump

White and dense smoke from my engine


White smoke in the exhaust is water being burned in the engine with the gas. It means you have a broken head gasket typically or a broken or warped head. Can happen, typically if the engine overheats badly. Remove the head and inspect the gasket for any breaks. If you dont see any problems with the gasket then you need to get the head inspected at a shop. Often it is best to have the head serviced anyway while it is off.

definitely head gasket gone. examine head when apart to see if it needs skimming otherwise it will keep happening

Its running hot,water is mixing with oil


Possible there is a cylinder GASKET failure or a BLOCK or head crack that makes the water jacket to leak into the main sump.
You need to confirm on this before the engine can be taken out. So check the oil in the sump to confirm. If so the engine has to be removed and checked.

Definitely the head gasket mate water cant really get above piston any other way - the piston would be sucking water into it on the down stroke then on the up stroke water would be passing pass the piston rings into sump oil
the only test you can do with out the bike started is a compressed air leak down test I happy to elaborate on this test if you need but if you do all your own rebuilds then I sure you know all about it..
when you take head off to replace gasket I would highly recommend you get the face of the head machined as pretty much any head that age in my experience at least would have some warpage to the face which will become harder and harder to get good head gasket seal even with new gaskets also if budget allows this would be great time to consider new piston and rings kit even new cylinder as its all apart any how if you can afford it would be very worth while
when you get running again I would also change that oil completely and oil filter every ride for at least 2 or 3 times to make sure all that water is all gone - or it will bite you later with far worse problems than head gasket issues

With bike warm and choke off my 2002 crf450 pops on deacceleration. reves and runs exellent only on de aceeleration will it pop.


Popping during deceleration is unburned fuel igniting in the exhaust system. Four stroke dirt bikes are highly prone to this. However, you should be able to minimize the popping by restricting the air leaking into the exhaust. Replace the exhaust gasket in the head between the head and head pipe and the head pipe to the muffler. If there is no gasket between headpipe and muffler you may be able to improvise with a strip of fiberglass cloth

650 over heating


check the thermostat it could be sticky or just stuck shut it could also be,,, a blocked rad,,,, running with a very week fule mix, (wrong muffler fitted will do this),,, a water pump fault,,,, or a faulty water temp censor,
or worst,,,a head gasket blown!!! or cracked block!!!
change the thermostat first, its the cheapest part,

How to reassemble header for 2002 Kawasaki Ninja 250


first lay out all your exhaust system parts . take inventory.2 ex. gskt.2 mffler gskt,left muffler(short),right muffler(long), header pipe,4 collars, 4 nuts(6 mm),2 holders,2 muffler clamp,2 hanger bolt,2 nut( 10 mm). next. put small dab of grease on exhaust donut gaskets so they will stay in place by themselves when you stick them in place in the exhaust ports ,on the cyl. head.next gather collars, head pipe w/ holders & 6mm nuts, w / 10mm .wrench or socket.tricky part,hold head pipe up in plce to head,take collars w/ lip or bend facing out & put in between pipe holders & ex. donut gaskets,place holders over exhaust studs & install 6 mm nuts & tighten evenly but do not tighten all the way just keeping collars in place. now hang mufflers,w/ gaskets,clamps,nuts, & bolts,loosely.now tghten down head pipe evenly,cheking collars for proper alignment as you tighten.next,tighten mufflers to headpipe w/ clamps using 12 mm socket or wrench.next, tighten mufflers to frame using 14 mm.finally, start bike & check for exhaust leaks.
