SOURCE: battery removel for a 2004 suzuki 800 intruder

I know for the models till 2002 where the battery is located in front of the rear wheel.

Place the bike on her side stand
remove the negative battery lead at the left side, just below the transmission tube ( cone ) 10mm socket wrench
On the right side remove the security cap on the positive lead ( cross screwdriver ), then remove the positive lead.
The battery is hold in place with a 'floor plate'. remove both bolts of the floorplate ( on each side ) while holding the palte into place.
gently lower the plate and the battery.

I hope the 2004 model has the same assembly!

SOURCE: 2008 suzuki GSX 1000 motorcycle indicates on

FI = Fuel Injection. The FI computer is telling you that it has detected a problem and the code for that problem is "C13". Telephone your dealer and ask what that code C13 indicates is wrong. Then you can determine if you want to try the fix, i.e. "clean the air filter", or if the shop must do it, i.e. "# 3 injector is restricted".

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!

Drivers seat does not move in the backward mode.all the other switch functions work properly.the seat is all the way forward and I cannot get in the drivers seat. I appreciate your help, thank you.

ssqsantiago, What you have to do is look under the seat and look for the electrical connections. You may find that one of the connections has a broken wire. If not, then disconnect each connection one at a time and look for any rusted pin or wires. If there are none of the above then what you can do is to figure out which motor moves the seat forward and backward and apply direct power to the motor. You will need a 12 volt battery for this and wires long enough to reach the motors connection. If the motor does not react to the power source then reverse the wires. If the motor still does not react at this time then the motor will have to be replaced. What you can do in the meantime is remove the motor and try to move the seat manually. Good luck with this.

Need to replace batteries. can,t figure how to get to the battery. have tried every thing i can think of to get the seat off which looks like you have to do to get to the batteries.

tazbrad Yep you have to remove the seat. Now the hard part, the seat post is probably rusty and they can be stubborn. Raise up on the handle located on the right side under the seat at the same time turn the seat back and forth to loosen it in the post. You might have to get help with this part, As you lift up on the handle and are turning the seat back and forth you need to pull up on the seat to get the post out of the post attached to the frame. spraying a little wd40 or light oil might help. Keep twisting and lifting up on the seat and you should see and feel it coming off the frame. Eventually it should come off giving you access to the batteries. Make sure to unplug the joystick cable before you remove the seat. When its time to put the seat back in the post grease the heck out of it so the next time it will just slip out Hope this Helps

Can't replace batteries

There are two options. i`m in the states and I assume this is a U.K. scooter. There will be either a bolt that goes thru the seat post or you need to lift the black lever underneath the seat that allows it to swivel and kind of move it back and forth while pulling up. Give it a shot.

To remove the seat, you first will need to remove the (2) side covers. There is a slotted screw along the bottom edge towards the front of the cover. Turn that screw so the marks don't align. You can then pull the covers off being careful not to pull at an angle or you might bust off one or more of the posts.
Once the covers are off, look about midway of the seat under the strap, you will find a bolt on each side. Remove those 2 bolts and slide the seat back.
Hope this helps

Cant figure out how to change my battery

The battery is located beneath the rear seat. Give the rear seat a good upward yank to release from the snap-in holders. The battery is on the passenger side.

I Have Honda Shadow 400s. My battery is dead adn I want to replace it but cant locate it. i removed the side covers and its not their. I assume its under the sit but after I remove all screws sit still...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To your concern:
  • Where is the battery and how do I change it?
Under the seat inside the battery box. In some versions, there are 3 Phillips screws that hold the cover. Pls note the location of the +/- battery terminals. Not all batteries have the same location/position of the terminals. If the battery has not been replaced for some time, dipping the battery terminal connector in very hot water would remove corrosion.
  • How do I remove the sit if needed?
If I remember right, just 2 Allen screws (left & right) between the seat and pillion (rear/passenger seat). I have seen version where there is a third screw at the back of the pillion. Once all screws are removed, lift the rear seat slightly and pull back (towards the rear of the bike). The front/driver seat also would require a slight lift and pull back.

Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
