you will have to get a pair of vise grips or mole grips depending what country you are in and what you call them there. make sure you get them on the bolt real tight. check out this link for new bolt/filter http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo.aspx?catref=500323&tier1url=Spares&tier2url=Oil-Filter-Bolts&tier3url=Economy&tier4url=Oil-Filter-Bolts

Engine oil leaking, draw bolt is slightly slipping from the groove.

You have two options:

1. Repair the stripped thread with Helicoil.

2. Re-thread the hole and install a larger drain bolt.

I'd lean slightly towards #2, as Helicoil installation requires more skill and can get botched more easily.

2009 Yamaha Raider engine oil drain plugs stripped

Hi, Poe66, I feel your pain, if the drain plug bolts are stripped then just buy new ones. If the threads in the engine case, where the bolts go, are stripped then you need Helicoils installed by a professional technician. If the drain plugs face straight down and you brought your bike to my shop I would charge you $75 for 2 Helicoil steel thread inserts installed. I believe someone makes an oversize tapered self-tapping drain bolt that may be a cheaper way to go if you are a little low on "DRACHMA"

My 04 crf 450 is leaking oil out of the air box breather

Hi, Jmattison21 and the usual suspects are:
1. Oil tank/system overfilled.
2. Faulty breather valve.
3. Engine breather hose bent, pinched, kinked etc.
4. Air filter has too much "pre-oil".
5. Crankshaft seal failure allowing transmission fluid to migrate.
6. Blow by drain tube cracked/split or filled to capacity.

What to do if engine oil drain bolt lost its grooves (not tread)...whats the best solution for removing drain bolt without doing any damage?

Typically , the threads in the crankcase are what get stripped out. Find a dealer that has oversize drain bolts and have them tap the drain hole in the crankcase out to the next size bolt. That is the best fix for a stripped drain bolt hole. Always be careful, when changing your oil , to only tight the filter and the drain bolt (with soft aluminum sealing washer) enough to seal the oil in . Over tightening will only make the next oil change harder with the possibility of this happening again.
