Check the electrical switch in the clutch lever, most bikes have one as a safety, so you cant start it in gear, unless the clutch is in, could be a faulty switch, also do you have a switch on your side stand, sometimes these can be faulty as well.

I have a 2004 Yamaha TTr 125 with a bent exhaust valve. What other parts may I have to replace as a result of this??

Usually nothing.
The valves usually bend easily , and the connecting rod bearing usually can take it.
With bad luck, you could have cracked the piston, bent the rod, squashed the bearing, damaged the crank, and worn the valve guide.
You can tell if the guide is warn by inserting a new valve and seeing it is rocks side to side too much.
Of course the real questions is how you threw the timing chain and allowed the valve to get bent?

My yamaha blaster will not start after my chain came off and over reved it has spark and compression. what should i do?

If this bike is carburettored, not EFI then you have damaged / bent the reed valves in the carby.

Remove carby which has the reed valves on the inlet side and you will see them bent. Replace with brand new, you are wasting your time to try and straighten them!!

and when you replace, also replace gears, as a new chain will eat up the old gears, and vise-versa.

Is the motor interferance heads

If your car is automatic you should have no damage to the valves and can just have the timing belt/chain replaced. If it is manual transmission odds are that half of the valves are bent and will need to be replaced. Good luck!

Timing chain broke

Hello,Bad Luck with timing chain failure,
Sorry to bear bad news but as far as I know Gm engines are NOT safe i.e. the valve miss pistons. It sometimes isn't too severe if very low rev's i.e. tickover, usually 2 or 3 exhuaust and same inlet. Let's hope no seats.
Cheer's!
