Where can I find a replacement power switch?

Power switches are safety components that can only be replaced by manufacturer approved parts. Contact Crosley for where you can get approved parts.

No ignition but the fan works

Sounds like a safety switch or some component has tripped or been opened, try resetting any safety reset buttons, turn power off to the unit for one minute, to alloow unit to reset.

AC thermostat not working

Hello, if the unit is equipped with a condensate safety switch it will kill power to the thermostat if the drain line is backed up. You would need to use a wet/ dry vac to clean out the line. The line is typically a 3/4 inch white pvc pipe. If the unit does not have a safety switch then either a blown fuse, burned out transformer are the problem.

the handle has a switch which also controls distribution of power to the unit this switch makes sure the door is closed in order for the unit to operate a safety feature to prevent flooding. And there are sometimes fuses on control boards. Although i think it is your door safety switch.Remember to rate my solution and leave testimony this is how i earn achievements here on FixYa Thanks in advance

Has power but full light tank light is on but the tank is empty although it does sometimes start for a few seconds . have purchased 2 of same model at same time (june 2010) and the other one is fine,please...

Wayne, the condensation collection bucket may not be seated properly in the unit. Therefor, it does not make proper contact with the safety switch. Try reinstalling the bucket while the unit is ON.This will give you an indication if the safety switch is being triggered. The over all problem is in the safety switch. Also, make sure the unit is sitting level.

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Please be kind enough to take a moment and rate my response. Thanks!

My kirby generation 3 wont come on

Make sure cord is not damaged. Check to see nothing is blocking hose or carpet nozzle(where beater brush is or brush roll). Plug unit in to a receptacle that you know has power going to it. (Lamp you know works when plugged into same. Using hose on front, make sure bag bottom completely attached to exhaust, the hose has a little arm like thing that will depress the safety switch on the front of the unit, and turn on using foot switch at the back of the unit. If these do not work, it could be one of two safety switches, dirt may have fouled or switch may need to be replaced. Breeze just stop running.....

At the rear of the unit is the filter. When the filter is removed, the small screw or whatever it is called, that is attached to the filter on the lower right side, disengages the the safety switch just below the filter on the unit itself, if there is nothing to hold down this safety switch the unit will not operate. So take off the filter, there is a small notch on the unit, inside this notch is the safety switch, Try pressing down on this switch and see what happens. I hope this helps. Also, it may be the fuse.

Faulty safety power cord...

You can by-pass it by simply connecting the 2 wires together. Obviously the safety it is supposed to protect you from will not work, but it can get you by instill a replacement can be found. It seems like the surge burnt the coil out on the switch. If you are conscious of the heater and what its going ,you should be safe. They made these things a long time without a trip switch on the cord. It just requires some common sense.

What part do we replace first?

Door safety switch. You are sure you have power to furnace? jump out the G and R terminals on the furnace control board or turn your thermostat to Fan On to check. Make sure the door safety switch is in the closed position. Fan should come on. No fan, no power to unit. Check Emergency switch, circuit breaker and there may be a fuseable link in the wiring somewhere either above the unit or a condensate safety switch. Get power to the unit. Also check to see if there is a small fuse in the wiring inside the furnace or on the circuit board.
