The look your looking for REQUIRES the fender eliminator. That's what makes it look that way.

I just got new points for my 1977 yamaha xs400. My old ones were pitted and burnt. Now I can not get it to start. My old ones just did not give the spark i needed. I also got a new condensor. The new...

The gap should be .015 with the points arm on the high point of the cam. There is a chance the new condensor could be bad from the factory. Not very likely, but remounting the old condensor would eliminate that as the problem. Is there any chance the wires are disconnected or broken anywhere? Use a multi meter to check for power at the points. Have you checked the fuse box? Is the Kill switch on? Check the side stand kill switch also if your bike has one. Good battery? Install new spark plugs. Carbon buildup on the plugs can rob electricity needed for a spark. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Front fender is cracked and rubs, know this is a common problem, is there another fender that fits this bike

Here is a link to a new one but it is $180

These are the models it will fit:
Part # = 1UJ-21510-00-MW
Part Description = FRONT FENDER COMPLETE
YX600S 1986 600 YX600 RADIAN Street
YX600SC 1986 600 YX600 RADIAN (Cal) Street
YX600T 1987 600 YX600 RADIAN Street
YX600TC 1987 600 YX600 RADIAN (Cal) Street

To try to find one that would fit the same that is not made for the bike you would have to actually compare your cracked one with the others. If you call a Yamaha dealer they will most likely want to sell you a new one, but they may give you a cross reference for other models that will fit.

Please vote for me and rate me if this helps,

Remove the tail

The assembly is bolted on. Depending on how much you want to modify it, there are fender eliminator kits available. Some are just license plate holders. Others are complete rear turn signal and bracket kits. Some have lights for the license plates, some do not. Do a search on the web. If you just don't like how the tail hangs down so low, consider just cutting the it off at the bottom, right below the plate to make it shorter. The reflector isn't necessary to have.
