They are located under the oil tank. The starter nose goes into the inner primary.

Starter zings after stopping for a while.

While you are turning the key to the start position get someone to tap gently on the solenoid with a hammer. The solenoid is the small round unit mounted on the starter. If this doesn't get the solenoid to engage you may have to replace the unit.

My harley wont start. When i press the starter button i can hear a clack clack . THE BATTERY IS CHARGED

Check ur SOLENOiD on the SRARTER, it seems the magnetic coil is is letting go when ur push to start!

Either that, grounding must have not reaching ur STARTER, thats why the solenoid is not pushing ur bendix!

Hope that helps u out!

Always power to my starter 02 flstc when i turn the ignition switch on

If you are talking about whenever you turn the ignition switch on, the starter starts turning without you pushing the button, let's try this. The first thing to do is look at the end of the starter up near the bottom of the oil tank. You'll see a pentagon shaped (5-sided) plate and a green wire that plugs into a socket. Unplug this wire and then turn the ignition switch on.

If the starter STILL TURNS, the solenoid is stuck. Disconnect the battery. Right where you unplugged the wire, there is a pentagon shaped (5-sided) looking plate with three screws holding it on. Take the three screws out and remove the plate. Behind the plate, there will be a plunger. This plunger is what activates the starter motor. Make sure it moves in and out freely. There is a large spring on the other end that is supposed to push the plunger back towards the plate after the engine starts.

If the starter does NOT turn when you unplugged the wire, check the wire for voltage. If you have voltage there, the switch on the handle bar is probably stuck or bad. When you push the switch on the handlebar, this puts power on the green wire at the solenoid. The solenoid then pulls in and activates the starter motor.

Good Luck!!
