SOURCE: What should the compression be on a 2004 Suzuki

With the throttle held wide open, the compression should be between 140 psi and 180 psi. If the compression reads lower that 140 psi, adjust the valve tappet clearances and try again. Insufficient valve tappet clearance is the most common cause of low compression in four stroke engines.

Where is the kill switch at on a 2005 Suzuki forenza wagon

kill of what?. there is no dead man switch like my boat has....
it's called the ignition key.
there is no other kill switches. (if panic?, shift to neutral works too if engine on fire, NOT))
unless you are the computer? the PCM
the PCM kills fuel for:
1: lost spark.
2: lost CMP sensor., "cam"
3: lost CLK sensor "crank"

why not post the symptoms (if any) and ask for help
get the helper on the same page... right?

How do i check the compression in my 2007 suzuki grand vitara

old post
just like all cars.
with a compression gauge.
but not all gauges, work , only the long hose screw in type work
never the V8 style. short, rubber tips, (fail)

if how means, what is the procedure,
well that is the same for all EFI cars. (and safty steps)
you didnt state the engine type, size?
but most suzuki run 170psi min.cold or 185 hot.

the 12 steps (1.6L)
http://www.fixkick.com/compressiontest.html

if you want, the FSM covers this.
or at
alldata dot com

safety:
keep in mind if you let the injector squirt fuel and spark is enabled too , you invite danger to you .
A pro defeats the fuel buy killing the fuel pump.
I defeat both, spark an fuel then do the compression tests.
the spark can hit 100,000 volts open circuit and if it reaches out
to you, that can cause Pain or worse.

most GV have , COPS, Coil over plugs
fues 39 IG-COIL fuse kills the COPS.
and it think sill allows cranking. via engine bay fuse 2.

so pull IG-coil in the cab, next to left toes, for max safety.

1996 Suzuki DT30C outboard- won`t start. I installed a starter last week. It ran great. Now it won`t even cough, nothing. I pulled out the kill switch & cheked, it has connectivity.

Check for compression. If it has fuel and spark and compression it should fire. If the compression is low it will not run.

My DRZ 110 finally starts after cleaning the carb. Now it wont stay running unless its throttled up and down. The Exhaust coming out of the engine starting glowin red and it keeps backfiring. What can i...

You are running really lean. gas is not getting to the idle ports. try removing the idle mixture screw and shooting some carb cleaner in there. make sure you get all of the mixture screw parts out first. Reinstall screw and set to previous adjustment. you may have to back out the idle mixture screw a bit to allow it to idle properly. There is a very small idle mixture jet that may be clogged as well.

Won't start .is 70# compression enough. Spark and fuel ok. Took off carb and cleaned it. Doesn't even fire with small dose of starting fluid

70psi compression indicates it's rebuild time; the compression should be double that. You can confirm what the compression should be with good rings by putting a few drops of oil in the spark plug hole and testing compression "wet". That figure will be what a new saw would have.

I have a 52 plate suzuki DRZ 400 SM and sometimes

Get yourself some " Contact cleaner" aerosol to clean the contacts in your ignition barrel. Access should be fairly easy if you remove the headlight and fairing.
Sounds like you have been in mud or dust, contamination has most likely got into the switch.
Check and clean the kill switch on the handlebars while you are at it.
Happy Trails!
