Headlamps wiring

In the headlight there is the main globe (bulb/lamp) which generally has three(3) wires to it. This is HI beam and LO beam along with "common" (earth.....green).
The small globe is the "running" light and the Brown and Green connect to this. This light comes on when the ignition (or lights) is switched on, off the rear tail light circuit. In the headlight "Nancelle" (the big chrome housing the headlight fits in to) there will be A: a GREEN connector and B: a BROWN connector. The green is earth and the brown is the lighting circuit for all running lights, just reconnect.

WHY IS THERE THE WRITH " LAMPF! " ON THE DISPLAY OF MY GS 1200 2006?

There is a light out on the front of your bike, could be a parking light, turn signal or headlight bulb. Turn on ignition and check the lamps on the bike, then start the engine and check the headlights.

Do you have the owners manual for the R1200GS? The warning indicators are described in the manual.

Brake light doesn't light up

first you need to check the easiest thing, the rear light globe. replace the light bulb. if still not working, check fuses,, then you also have a front and rear brake lamp switches. Most likely it's just your rear light globe. easy fix!

Had a sort and the headlights and parking lights do not come on

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

The headlights and tail lights passes through separate 20 Amps fuses.  The headlights uses separate relays for the lo & hi. Both are supplied from the main switch through a brown/blue wire.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
