Had same problem last week but it eventually kicked into gear. This week it moves very very slow, it moves a little then stops then moves a little more then stops and so on . I changed fuel and fuel filter and air filter and it still the same.

Is this happening in all gears or just one? Is the motor bogging at all. If not chances are the problem is in the drive belt to the transmission or in the transmission itself. Check to make sure you are getting it into gear. you should be able to feel the transmission hit a notch for each gear. If you can't, chances are the little module in the top of the trans that sets the gears has broken and needs to be replaced. Often these get sticky before going bad. If the motor is running normally though, it's not the engine, it's drive belt or transmission. with the mower off, you can check the drive belt tension by simply having the clutch pedal in the out (drive) position. In that position the drive belt should be tight enough that you really can't slide it in either direction without causing motion on the motor pulley. If it has slack in it, then your clutch is probably out of adjustment or your drive belt has stretched beyond it's working life. Have you smelled burning rubber at all.. if so the belt is probably slipping. If not, it's more likely that it's in the transmission.

SOURCE: lawn mower will start, but won't move????

If you have had either of the rear wheels off, remove the cover from the center and observe the shaft with the engine running and transmission in gear. If the shaft is turning, you have lost the 1/4 inch key that locks the axle to the wheel to make it go

check the connecting rod to the tranny. follow the gear handle and you should find a rod connecting the handle to the axle make sure you're in neutral and adjust the rod until the handle starts to move

My stick Audi A6 Quatro had some gear slip when I shifted, then a lot of gear slip, and now the car doesn't move. I can shift into any gear without using the clutch. The RPMs go up, but car does

Your friction plate is kaput. Replace clutch system. Sounds like the pressure plate needs attention as well. No idea of price but get prices of "clutch kit" on the web and you can have an idea.

Clicking from front passanger side wheel

continuous velocity joint going bad (CV JOINT). will need to be replaced, may go out at anytime, or may last a good while. likely reason is boot was cracked and grease was lost, so over time the joint gets heat cracked, and eventually breaks and bearings come loose leaving veh imobile (won't effect engine, wheels just won't move)

Craftsman Riding Mower (24 HP 42 in cut Model 289254) with throttle issue. Very slow in 6th gear

follow the throttle cable all the way down to the engine. Have some one move the throttle up and down to see if the throttle plate is opening and closing all the way. You can loosen the screw holding the throttle cable and move it back and forth to see if it will allow the throttle plate to open and close correctly. It may have slipped when the assembler tried to tighten it.
