Where on bike is oil filter
The TDR125 has a two stroke engine. The engine oil it requires is mixed with the petrol. You add this oil when required into the oil tank via the filler under the seat. Therefore the engine oil is constantly being renewed and burnt with the petrol. Subsequently there is no oil filter in the traditional sense.

As far as maintaining your bike, the best thing you can do for yourself is to ride over to the dealer to pick up an oil filter, oil (10w40 motor oil), a new spark plug and a can of chain lube then ask them to give you some instructions in owner maintenance for your bike. They will be happy to show you what you can do and HOW to do it. This includes adjusting the chain. Don't be bashful. Ask questions; "How often is that needed? What do I look for? What tells me I need to bring it in? Can I get those parts here?" Build a relationship with your dealer. You will both benefit more that way than if I just tell you how to do the adjustments.

at the bottom of the engine on the brake side of the bike, around the gearbox, there's a look through window with a low level and a high level marked on it, the oil should be between those after it's heated, check it hot, let the engine run 3 minutes or so, you have to put the bike up right to correctly check the oil level, which means you'll need a friend to hold the bike up while you look at the level through the window, or you can use a brick or something under the kick stand to keep the bike more level, just be careful. To change the oil, you'll need to get an oil filter and 2.1 quarts (I think that's the right amount, it's 2000 ml) of 10w - 40 oil and then all the stuff to catch the old oil and funnels and rags and an allen wrench, I think it'll be a 4mm allen wrench, but I'm not sure on that, check with your bike, there are 3 allen wrench bolts that are holding a panel onto your gear box, behind this panel is your oil filter. Drain oil first before taking this panel off and changing your filter, there's bolt on the kickstand side of the engine at the bottom of the bike, it's sideways, this is the drain plug for the oil, it'll probably be hot so careful unscrewing it, take it out and the oil will pour out, but it's sideways so it's going to be messy, use a funnel or something to direct the oil into a bucket or container of some kind. after oil is drained, replace drain plug, now use an allen wrench and take off the panel on your gear box, pull out the oil filter, discard of properly, put the new oil filter in. put the panel back on the gear box. on the same side there's a black plastic turn screw cap that's where the new 2.1 quarts of oil goes in there. if you don't change the filter the amount of oil you use is less, put the plastic cap back on and you're done.
I reccomend taking it to a mechanic to do this, but, I'm going to do mine myself, I think I'm just going to add oil to mine, it's low, I have a 2008 Suzuki S-40 which is the same thing as a Savage, with just different badging.

SOURCE: oil blowing out of exhaust
Run it out, The oil has collect in the exhaust media and baffles. Iver fill can cause this proble. As long as it has oil in it, run it out (burn it out) If the oil is low when you ck it, and that should be often, Then note it. Valve guide wear is progressive and the engine would smoke. Keep the oil level proper and take it on a mellow ride, no hard throttling. You should see an improvement after about 20 miles down the freewayat 60. Just stay alertand pay attention to the sound of the motor. Good luck and let me know when you get back.
