Question about 1998 Honda CBR 600 F(3)W

I have a BaJa 250 17hp starts runs about 30 seconds cuts wait 5 min. same thing. I have drained tank bowel and let gas run out of tank still won't run.

Is it magneto or coil ? / if coil based it may be defective.

is the spark plug new

is the petrol filter blocked

has the choke been left on ?

Hi David check the fuel supply from the tank. Turn off the tap then pull the pipe off the tap or carb then turn fuel on there should be a good steady flow if not there is a blockage. There is a filter in the tank you will need to remove the tank and then the fuel tap. Also check along the fuel line for blockage. And make sure the vent in the filler cap is ok. Regards Jim...

Previous owner had way overfilled crankcase oil. Oil had gotten into carb and clogged air filter. Drained oil to correct level. Ran engine but kept cutting off-see above. Took off carb cover cleaned housing and ran without air filter-ran fine. Unsuccessfully tried to clean air filter with gas-did not work. Apparently, the engine could run just long enough to exhaust the air in the old filter and cut off which is why it would start back up after a few seconds. Bought new air filter-whole thing-about $15 at Carquest. Put in some carb cleaner and installed the new filter and it runs perfectly.

I have a Samsung rs21!!! it wont cool in either compartment. when I plug it in the compressor fan does a quarter turn then stops. the compressor runs for about 30 seconds then cuts out? any ideas plea


most likely the start relay on the compressor that changes from start windings to run windings. the compressor will run for about 30 seconds on start windings then click out on internal thermal overload.
this can be confirmed by turning it on and letting it do the 30 second run then when it stops just wait and see if it cuts in and tries to run again (usually takes about 5 min) the second time it cuts in it wil most likely not run for as long (usually about 10 seconds). if this is what it does get a new compressor start/run relay.
as for the fan flick it with your finger and see if it spins freely.

2 year old gas in tank. tiller won't stay running


When you drained the gas from the gas tank did you also take the carb apart and clean it. There should be a bowl that the fuel line from the gas tank goes to. There is a float in that bowl that has to go up and down to regulate how much gas goes into the engine. You may have a build up of varnish from old gas on the piece that the float moves up and down. Also there should be an idle jet that you screw in and out to adjust the idle. That also could be junked up.

Assuming that the engine can be turned over with the starter, the most likely culprit is it's not getting enough fuel, especially if it's been sitting for 6 months or more. AT YOUR OWN RISK, remove the air duct after the air cleaner and pour a shot-glass full OR LESS of gas directly into the carburetor or throttle body. It should start and at least run briefly. If it does, then add at least 3-5 gallons to the fuel tank. If you've run out of gas, then adding just one gallon is not enough. Today's fuel-injection systems have pressurized fuel lines which need at least a gallon just to fill all the pumps and filters between the tank and the engine. Good Luck, TechJoel

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter to me, maybe look into the TPS: throttle positioning sensor. Good luck

First step remove old fuel
Should be a turn off valve on bottom of fuel tank. Then go to the Carburetor were the fuel line runs to. on bottom is the float bowel. Remove the bolt in center of this bowel. drain old fuel out. Then turn on your fuel with bowel off. flushing the line. If not fuel runs out. Lightly tap the float. If still no fuel. Turn off fuel. Remove the float under the float is the needle and seat. Remove the needle if did not fall out. Clean or replace the needle. Then replace float and bowel. Turn fuel on check for leaks. remove spark plug check for spark. Should have a nice bright blue spark when you crank it. If so put a little fuel in spark plug hole. Give a pull. Or if you want dip the plug just to the end of threads in fuel. Replace plug . Should start right up.

Ryobi SS30 starts great, runs fine, quits


the engine is getting to hot & shutting down either not the right fuel mix or not enough oil in engine sometimes the mixture screws need to be adjusted

49cc 2 stroke runs for 20 sec. then cuts out


20 seconds is all that is required to drain the float bowl. You have a float bowl/needle valve problem.
