Engine will not start

Started perfectly and then rode approximately 5 km now will not restart. All electrics seem dead for the most part although lights come on briefly once or twice when trying the key.

The first thing to check is the battery connections. Is one of them loose, or your ground cable loose? Then test the battery. Does it have about 13v on a multi-meter, and still show 13v while attempting to start? Next I would look for damaged wires, perhaps near the switch. Also check your kill switch.

I just had my 2006 model Cnr 1000 serviced it's done 200 km since I started it fine this morning then rode about 3 km it started making a grinding noise then shut down now won't start still grinding

Have to know what was serviced to see if this is relevant to the problem. Grinding automatically goes to oil drained and you engine is about to seize up. More info will help on this though.

2001 1200 sportster cranks and backfires, carb and fuel good, could it be crank sensor?

Wasted spark system. If fuel and electrical is all good/correct it is often the case in these symptoms that motor cycle spark plugs that although looking good and firing outside of the engine are breaking down and will not fire under compression pressures on a power stroke but will fire unburned fuel on the unpressurized exhaust stroke when the plug again fires in a wasted spark ignition system and when so firing the result is a backfire, usually quite loud.

voltage regulator probably, intermittent problem or alternator diode burned .Ask a mechanic to check your voltage and your flowing current in the system while idling

No start 09 Ultra Classic Electra Glide

Sounds like your charging system is not charging the battery.

Put a volt meter on the battery, run the engine up to maybe 2,000 RPM. The voltage must be at least 13.8V, but not more than 14.5.

If that is all OK, your battery is worn out, and is not holding sufficient reserve. It would need to be replaced.

1988 Mercedes Benz 300E 3.0L Gasoline F.I. ''Sputtering at Idle

ok..you must have more than one car???? you don't drive the 300 atall im guessing. #1 start car drive up the road and \back to your house. #2 let it idle till problem starts. #3 once it does start with the problem keep it alive with the gas pedal. #4 once your have it safely from dying in higher rpms "rev it" like a kid would, you know like if you were gonna race some one lol. be careful not to over rev or damage engine. you should do this for five minutes no longer than that. #5 let it idle for another 5 minutes. #6 repeat every day until problem with idling decipates. it took mine 3 300e like 3 days of this. if your not going to drive the car once you get the problem out of the way. turn the car on everyday and let it idle for 5 minutes atleast and take it for a short drive once a week. they get lonelly you know lol. later on you can just turn the car on every 2 -3 days and let it idle but still take it on a short drive atleast once a week

1995 Taurus will not restart after sitting 5 minutes. After sitting for approximately an additional hour will restart.

With the spark dying it sounds like electric problems. Your coil can be failing when it builds up heat sitting. The fan air and air from driving can keep the coil cool but then it acts like a heat sink when the engine sits.
The battery can also play out in heat, have it tested. Finally the ground wires could be dirty. The motor has more compression when hot. This time of year cold oil is not a factor on cold starts, so you do not have problems on the initial start. The starter ground seems okay, but the chassis ground for the ignition could be corroded.
