Question about Sym Motorcycles
I have this 2007 joyride sym 200 and my engine had problem so i bought a bike that has an accident and changed engine with gear and clutchs [not me my mechanical] so what happened is i started with the bike everything cool and after few days my bike started having problems on aspect roads my bike wont run more than 40km/h i went to the mechanical he said that something need to be 1MM a measure of something and he fixed it and everything is alright after few days i had the same problem and he fixed it again and know i have the same problem but my bike started to cut off at top speed like the rpm on 9000 it goes to 7000 suddenly and go back to 9000 he said that the camshaft is molten so im ****** of him because i spent money and time and i dont know about engines and bikes so please some one can tell me if is it the camshaft because im sick of him and i feel like everytime he steal me lol sorry for my bad english ...
Hi, Faris1234567 nice novella you may have carburetor issues and the usual suspects are:
1. Inlet system air leak.
2. Enrichener valve not seated or leaking.
3. Damaged or restricted fuel tank vent system.
4. Restricted fuel supply tract.
5. Dirty or damaged air cleaner element.
6. Plugged bowl vent or overflow.
7. Worn or damaged needle or needle jet.
8. Vacuum piston assembly malfunction.
9. Loose or plugged main jets or passages.
10. Improper float level.
11. Accelerator pumps inoperative.

i had a simuler problem with my honda cr 250 moto-x bike it would start fine and you could keep it ticking over with the throttle(i have deliberatly unscrewed the tickover in case i come off,it will cut out) when i got on it,it would go for about 400-500 metres then splutter and die and not start again for around 5 mins. i immediatly knew it was a fueling problem. so after stripping the carb and giving it a good clean out i was baffled when i got back on and it still done the same. i then dismantled the fuel tap cleaned it all out and put it back together and tested it,it was very very slow so i unsrewed my fuel cap a little and was greated with the familur gush it should deliver. problem solved! the vent in my fuel cap had crystalised up,so the fuel was coming out but the air was not getting in,causing a vacuum and slowing down the flow and basically emptying the carb quicker than it can fill back up!!! clean your carb,fuel tap and any vents in your cap or tank. if this does not work then your bike must be over fueling or low on compression.

I would say that your bike may be running a little lean. I usually replace the jets on all my bikes as soon as I get them as the emissions requirements mandate that the manufacturers pass stringent emissions tests prior to the dealer selling them. Some bikes wont even idle or run, especially off road bikes from places like California. and in these cases you must re jet it is a must! I even throw away or drill larger holes into my air cleaner cover.
