Hi Sam
You can down load an excellent shop manual for your bike from here
It is a 50 meg PDF, so may lock up your browser until it has downloaded.(did for me). But will have all the information on how to and servicing your bike. Any problems,or want to chat, ask away. Cheers

No You Should be able to remove the one way starter clutch by removing the right-hand side cover and also removing the starter you can Utube the procedure im pretty sure but its pretty basic to do once your inside the cover and also you may wanna drain the oil previously to removing the side cover so it doesn't drain out on the floor while your trying to get cover off also be careful because there are dowels that align the case to the engine and sumtimes they rust together :)

Where is the oil drain plug on a 2002 yamaha vx 250 virago

On my 1995 250 virago the oil drain is a phillips head screw located on the left side of the bike behind, and slightly above the kick stand. It's almost directly below where the shifter connects to the transmission. Not sure if it's the same for a 2002, but I suspect it likely is.

I just want to change the oil on my 2006 xv250 virago! It appears the oil drain plug is positioned to obstruct being accessible to a ''normal'' wrench. Am I looking in the right place?

I had the same problem on my 1996 virago. The drain plug is not underneath but on the gearbox side of the bike, almost directly under the gear change sprocket. you can identify it because it has a phillips head middle. However a 17 mm spanner will undo the nut. Happy oil changing.

I have a yamaha virago xv250 03' model. Its done

first thing to do is to drain oil from your motorcycle use wrench 17(size may vary) to open the bolt under your bike and place a drain bucket under it, then remove spark plug using spark plug remover, as for the filter you can use a cross screw driver to remove the air filter, once you replace the spark plug and the air filter let the oil subside for about 3hrs, then return the bolt and place new oil, i dont know if this help but i hope it will

Clutch went out from using car oil

First try changing the oil to an inexpensive motorcycle oil.
Run the bike while engaging & disengaging the clutch until the engine is too warm to touch.
Drain the oil & replace with fresh.
See if this flush has improved the clutch performance.

Change oil in 2004 Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic, procedure?

i think the oil filter is at the front behind a round finned cover, if you find the drain plug it should be right above it, it shoud tell you how much oil it takes right next to the filler
