Hello Sir,

u can remove ur pulsar magneto, but with very careful way, as it may damage ur fuel tank.

wll to move, u apply oxidising agent very carefully near the edge of the magneto, n leave it for 5mins..!! then with a very thin steel wire r a screw driver, just try to pluck it..!! its tough job, n u may be reqired to paint the area after it removal..!!

Where can I get a workshop manual for a Bajaj Avenger DTS-I, 2006 model (so I presume its the 180cc)? The engine and gearbox was stripped.

Search it on Google. You can also have a glance over some motorcycle blogs where it is readily available..
As I am a Bajaj Pulsar user and I have downloaded the manual from the below mentioned link...

Hi, Aditya and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Security alarm needs a reset.
6. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

i have got my bajaj pulsar 150 cc 9 months back, i too faced the same problem. i have taken to the bajaj service center where i have recieved a answer for my question saying that the volves inside the engine either might have bent down or there might be a breakage in that. he also said the engine has to be opened and the volves has to be replaced. some parts like gasket, spark plugs and volve caps should also have to be replaced. to stick back the opened engine we should get used by some paste also. i have get my bike done with that repair and now there is no leakage of the fuel.

What is the average of pulsar 180

hi
Pulsar 180cc gives an average of about 48kms /ltr on city roads, while 58 to 60kms on highways. While the 200 cc bike gives an average of 40 kms per litre on city roads. So, you can measure it up for yourself, that when it comes to average, pulser won't live up to the expectations. Why don't you do one thing, try out other models of different manufactuers posted on the site called Infibeam.com. U can easily find models that look not only stylish but fulfill your average requirements also. Source(s): http://www.infibeam.com

I speak from experience, I have a 180cc Pulsar, me and my wife both travelled on the 180cc together, we commuted approx. 100km daily and had fuel efficiency of approx 35km/l on the 180cc, I think you might still get about 30km/l on the 220cc, if it is only you travelling on the bike, the 180's top speed(with a bigger front sproket, 17 instead of 15) was about 125km/h(not pussing it in the red)
Hope this help to make up your mind, personally I would go for the 220 if it is speed you want
