What kind of brake fluid does my 1999 cbr 900rr take? Also I have a vibration in the front when slowing with the front brakes. Is there anything regularly occurring with that problem with these bikes?

I recomend DOT 4 if you do not know what is already in your system bleed it out so your not having 2 different grades of fluid in your system. Vibration can you clarify what you mean is something your feeling and hearing (noise) squeel or grinding rough sound? Check your rotors for deep scratches you pads may be worn away metal to metal and brake service required.

    Nah there's plenty of pad life left but its what I'm feeling in the handle bars when there applied. Still have anywhere from 4-5mm left on pads. But noticed my brake fluid for my rear foot brake was low that's why I was checking on what fluid to put in. No leak is present just low fluid.

SOURCE: 2003 hd roadking the front brakes will not release

non return type blockage in the brake master cylinder. Requires stripping the master and replacing valve. A big bleed may help to clear the fault. Fluid is leaving the reservoir and unable to return. Fluid only flowing one way. See your dealer if you are not confident in re-building the master cylinder.

Has the bike been sitting for an extended period of time (a year or more)? If so, then the carburetors need to be disassembled and cleaned. Sometimes, if you are lucky, you can drain the stale fuel out of the float bowls and - with fresh gasoline in the tank, it may run. If it hasn't been sitting, perform a complete tune up (valve adjustment, replace spark plugs, change oil and filter, etc.).
If that doesn't do the trick, then there's a more serious problem. One, or more, of the required three things for combustion are missing: Fuel, compression, and spark (at the right time). Make sure there's spark - and it is happening at the right time. Check compression. You need to see at least 140 psi on every cylinder in order for it to run.

I have a 1994 chevey exstended cab 4 wheel drive it has a vibration in front it seems kije uts there when i accelerate then it kinda goes away but then when i brake and slow down it vibrates worst


sounds like you have a warpped brake rotor, bad ball joint, or a bad tire. I would recommed taking the truck to a tire shop and have them shake down the front end that will tell you if its a tire or ball joint

How brakes work


the brakes slows the movement of the car then the trans and engine slows with that I guess you know you have brakes on all 4 wheels by braking you are slowing down the wheels

3 questions for you:
1. What about the tie rods/joint?
2. Did you get an alignment after all that work?
To be honest with use most vibrations occur because of mis-alignments and/or improper wheel balance then anything else.
3. The binding in the brakes: did you use/are you using semi-metalic pads? I have changed to ceramics. I have noticed over the past 2-years that brake jobs using cheap semi-metalics have ended with noise. Also you vehicle is 10-yrs old. Did you extend the caliper bores (cups) fully (rubber dust boots fully showing) out and inspect? Further: when you re-sat the calipers was it easy to do or difficult? Brake hoses fray inside and act like your gateways in your veins. The frays allow fluid to go to the calipers but when the fluid is suppose to be going back towards the master cylinders it slows (and eventually stops), causing "binding". If it was hard to re-seat the calipers (back-in) it is either the caliper or the hose, After having a hard re-seating, push the caliper bores (cups) back out and remove the calipers from the hose lines. Attempt to re-seat the calipers (without the hoses attached) It they re-seat alot easier then it is the hoses.

Front brake ok until you move the bike then it just goes


try bleeding the front brake pull brake lever 3 times hold lever loosen bleeder screw on caliper retighten bleeder screw this takes 2 people just make sure you dont release brake lever while bleeder is open you wanna repeat this acouple of times untill nothing but fluid comes out bleeder also keep an eye on fluid level in master cylinder you will want to make sure to refill it with proper brake fluid

My car vibrates before new tires and after


vibration can be anything from brake rotors warped ,hub wheel bearing,bad cv joints or suspension part going bad -does it vibrate at different speeds or slowing down or under braking where do u feel the vibration in front or towards the back or while turning .tires dont usually vibrate unless it has a bad belt[defect in tire ]

The front passager side brake got locked frequently. Wheel is hot


If you open the brake fluid bleeder on that caliper you should have brake fluid dripping out. If not it could be the rubber flex hose has collapsed.If fluid drips out then the caliper is sticking and should be rebuilt or replaced.

1999 tahoe.right front brake caliper slow to release.


Besides changing the caliper did you by chance chg. the break hose going to it, there a 2-way hose fluid goes to caliper and returns thru same hose, and they have been known to cause what you have just discribed.
