The kickstand switch is either bad or bent out of position. See if you can activate the switch manually. Does the bike run now? If so, the switch is bent out of position. If it still won't run, jumper the wires together until you can replace the switch.

Try to jump start the bike, 2nd gear down hill key on and let the clutch out... If it starts you have a starter problem, could be the brushes.. good luck...

The bike may be discharging the battery. you need to test stator output,voltage regulator,and the fuses. Does the battery need to be recharged to restart?

SOURCE: My 1983 honda magna will
my 85 v45 magna was doing the same thing. I removed the solenoid & the battery cables. I cleaned both sides of all the connectors (even thought they appeared ok) I put it back together & now everything is fine. Good Luck!
