It could be your stator has given up not allowing the battery to pick up a charge

Charging fault as the running engine will produce current if magneto / alterantor is working. Check charge rate with multimeter across battery terminals = 13.8v - 14.5v at just above idle. Some are up to 16.5V at 5000rpm, but you will need to check against your manul.

SOURCE: Bike cranks and runs fine,

Sounds like an alternator or charging problem.
Check to see if you are getting around 14v on your battery with the engine running.
If not you will have to investigate your alternator etc.

Hi, asuming the battery is in good condition and has no dead cells, sounds like you have a charging problem, this could be simply a loose conection caused by corrosion, check the plug at the regulator rectifier, gently pull on the wires at the plug on both ends, look for corrosion, separate the plug and check inside it for corrosion, clean if ness, running a motorcycle with a discharged battery can cause damage to the machines electrical systems, including frying the ecu and stator, under normal conditions a. Battery can last up to 3years, (some may last longer) if in any doubt replace the battery

My sons1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee had the gauges light on and would not start like battery was dead. Had it jump started and it started. When he put in park it stalled jumped again and worked.

Sounds like a charging system problem and the alternator may not be working. The gauge light will come on if the charging gauge is showing low so you will look at the gauges. Have the battery and charging system tested

I have replaced the battery in the unit with a new battery. within a couple of weeks the battery is dead. what would cause a drain on the battery?

Your problem is either that the battery is not being properly charged, OR that there is a circuit that is drawing power from the battery when the vehicle's key has been removed and all is supposed to be off.

If new battery and just a few weeks old it is eligible for warranty replacement. Get a new one and see what happens. If that one also goes dead then you certainly have an issue like I indicated before.

might be due to the battery being bad and may need replacement but if the battery is holding a charge then it might be due to a short out in some place

No power

I think you should check the charging system. You said you replaced the battery a few weeks ago. Even with the charging system not working, the battery might have enough power for a dozen or more start-ups; but using the lights may have drained what power was left. Get or borrow a battery charger and charge your battery. If mower then seems to be working fine, measure the voltage across the battery when the mower engine is running at normal speed (not idling). It should be 13.5 volts or more if the charging system is working. 12 volts or less means it's probably not working. Either test or replace the regulator/rectifier. Please rate me if you think this helped, thanks!

The battery doesn't stay charged in Guardian 10K

I think that is the problem as well. Temporarily, you could just buy a tricke charger from the parts house and hook that up until your other one is changed. Rick

Battery goes dead every few weeks..I recharge it and it will stay charged for a few weeks or months. Then goes dead again.

I just recently had the same issue.  Have someone check all the fuses and see what is drawing the power down.   Do you have electrical seats?  OnStar? Also have someone check your ingnition to see if it is fully turning off.  Trailblazers are supposed to have the 'run down protection' but something that drains your battery little by little could be the problem.  It seems that trailblazers need a lot of juice just to get started...
