Hi if i remember correctly when the engine starts the lights will come on and if you stop the engine with the stop run switch the lights will stay on until you turn the ignition off.

SOURCE: 2001 kawasaki ninja 250 - headlight will not work-

Is the headlight itself new? You can hook up any 12 volt source to the headlight prongs and tell if the bulb itself is burned out...take it out and test it !...good luck to you....Tim

SOURCE: Headlight not working...bulb and fuse are good

check fuses first... if ok, buy an electrical tester from walmart for $5 and see if it's getting any electrical to the headlight.. if it is.. replace bulb

It's at least a good starting point.

SOURCE: headlight not working fuse good bulb good no power to switch

i had the same same problem with my 1992 vulcan 750. more than likely it is your reserve lighting devive located on the right side battery box. have you had a problem with your regulator/rectifier lately or a power surge of some type?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Would the wiring diagram of a ZX9R (C & D) help? You might find the red and red/blue wires from the ignition switch interesting.

Good luck and hank you for asking FixYa.

Twin headlamp failure

Hi,

Depending on the version/region of intended use, Kawasakis have a 4 pin headlight relay. In some versions, this would be located on or near the battery enclosure. additionally, again on some versions, there would be smaller relays and a diode matrix underneath the fuse bank.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
