The spark plugs on this bike fire # 1 & 3 and 2 & 4 at the same time. Number 1 fires first so there is no worry on plug wires if that's your concern. There is only 2 coils and 2 plug wires coming out of each. Make sure you connect the wires from the # 1 coil to # 3 and the other coil is # 2 and # 4.
Let me know if you need any other specific information.

Hi, I have a 1982 gsx 1100 Suzuki sitting on the bike from left to right what is the firing order if left coil is 1-3 & right coil is 2-4? thanks

Hi, Nigel "Fast Cat" says all the inline fours are the same in this (that I know of, maybe BMW does it differently, but every Japanese inline-four I ever saw was the same) sitting on the bike, from left to right, the cylinders are 1-4... there are two coils, and the one coil fires cyls 1 and 4 and the other fires cyls 2 and 3. you can swap 1 and 4 or 2 and 3, it makes no difference at all, but you can't put the 2-3 coil on cyls 1 or 4 and vice versa... you should be able to just take the long spark plug wires and put them on cyls 1 and 4 and the shortys go to cyls 2 and 3. Firing order is 1-4-2-3 For more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the links below. Good luck and have nice a day. Hello Camron, i would not recommend the hot wire procedure. If you spike the controller it could do a lot of damage. Plus the stator & rectifier are not working properly. You can replace the ignition switch, that comes with 2 new keys cheaper than a locksmith will make one, in most cases. Here are a couple of links for ignition switches that will fit your bike.
I hope this helps.

Bike will start but it kills batt after it's been

One highly possible issue could be that you may a sheared generator coupling, it connects the start gear to the generator to keep the battery charged. This happened to my RF and is somewhat common.

Suzuki bandit 1996 will not start

If you have spark and still the bike is not starting ( and the timing on the spark is correct) make sure you got fuel flowing to the engine, if fuel is getting there and still the engine doesn't start, check the cylinder head and pistons and make sure you got compression. These are the problems that can cause a bike not starting. Hope it helps

Is there normally oil in the ac generator of a 1996 800 suzuki intruder

Yes. As is the case with the vast majority of street bikes powered by a four cycle engine, yours has crankcase oil inside the generator cover. The oil serves to keep the generator coil temperatures at a reasonable level. Plus, it is much easier to mass produce an engine that doesn't require an oil seal around one end of the crankshaft.
