Do you have good compression.

If its flooding then its probably a carb issue. Strip and clean carb, check diaphrams and reset hi and low screws to standard settings. Screw both needles in and unscrew them:- H 3/4 of a turn anticlockwise and L 1 full turn anti clockwise.

Here's the breakdown for the carb. (dont use airlines to clean carbs)

SOURCE: 353 husqvarna chainsaw, floods during start process

Husqvarna says the initial carburetor needle valve settings are from lightly seated 1 turn CCW for both H & L.

Once flooded Huskys are very hard to start. This works well on my 359.
Start Procedure
Cold:

  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close - sets fast idle) pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls)
  4. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  5. Push (open) choke pull starter until it starts. (usually the next pull)
Warm:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close - sets fast idle) choke, - Don’t pull with choke closed.
  4. Push (open - fast idle maintained) choke, pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull)
Hope this helps
Lou

SOURCE: MY HUSQVARNA 36 AIR INJECTION chain saw does not get gas to the spark plug. Checked and cleaned the fuel filter and line and it seems to be clear....??? What else would prevent gas from getting to s

this new gas is a carb killer you will need a new diaphragm for the carb and there is a little screan next to the needle and seat that can be cleaned. about a 5.00 repair if done right.. use marine gas

Kymco 500 2008 cranks fine when cold runs great but it won't start right back up after getting warm

Hot starts fail.
ever do a tune up, spark parts? filters?
does it start backup if you WOT crank it
WOT -= wide open throttle or as some say flooring the gas pedal
and crank it. (the trick is it cuts fuel fully to clear the flood)
this clears flooding, (on all EFI cars made)
or test #1 , crank with just 5% added throttle this trick
adds air to hide bad IAC valve. and engine starts. (tricks/skills/ASE magic)\what eva.
but may stall if you lift the right foot, does it? hot?
test 3. will it start up with sprayed, instant start in a can?
hot? at air cleaner intake,
run for 3seconds and stall.
if yes fueling is wrong, (as in none)
if NO, spark is dead or weak

Here's a good one. Spark & gas, won't start.

The most common cause is a wood chip stuck in the inlet or exhaust valve.
Check the compression.

Why my blower want start and run?

If plug is wet with fuel, it is likely flooded. A flooded engine will not fire... even with starter fluid.

Remove air filter and spray a short 1 sec. burst of starter fluid into throat of carburetor and promptly pull starter up to three times.

If still no fire, check if plug is wet. If wet, then likely flooded. Dump fuel from tank, remove spark plug and pull starter several times to clear excess fuel. Check spark plug gap and reinstall spark plug. Leave fuel tank empty and repeat above procedure. If still no fire, remove plug... it should be dry. If dry then either insufficient spark (fouled plug), timing (sheared flywheel key), or insufficient compression (probable crankcase leak).

How to start jonsered 2172 chainsaw?

http://m.jonsered.com/ddoc/JONO/JONO2016_NAenNAesNAfr/JONO2016_NAenNAesNAfr__1153687-49.pdf

See page 20+. These saws are notorious for flooding at start. If it doesn't fire by the 3rd pull, stop, remove plug. If plug is wet its flooded. If dry, no fuel and as always, check it has spark.

I expect its flooding... a quick way to get the cylinder and crankcase cleared is to remove the spark plug AND AIR FILTER. Use low pressure air (~10 psi) into the plug hole for a few seconds. reinstall plug. Follow starting instructions.

If it floods again, repeat clear cylinder/crankcase, and follow starting instructions but don't use decompress.

Comment below and I'll assist further if need be.

1997 sl2 satun started with rough idol now won't start . cranks over and floods. has new fuel filter & air filter

Check the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum hose off it, If it smells of gas, Replace the regulator. Diaphragm broke and is flooding the engine threw that vacuum line. You'll also need to replace the spark plugs. Gas will foul them out also.

Why won't my 72 50hp johnson start?

You should let the old fuel out and get some new fuel. If it has a set of points for the spark timing make sure they are clean and don't have a spike. Make sure the air filter is clean. You may have flooded it or maybe the other way, not enough fuel. You can clear the flooding by taking the spark plug out and cranking it to blow out the cylinder.

2003 toyota sienna wont start sometimes But does turn over. Its not getting gas. After pumping pedal its starts

its not getting gas, is that a guess? or the results of a real test.
as per FSM book.?
the only test that proves not getting gas, is all spark plugs out and all are white and dry. (NOT GETTING GAS to the combustion chambers)
i think its flooding (sparks wet)
and all cars clear floods, with wide open throttle cranking, (A feature)
this magic feature, cuts all fuel cranking, to clear said flood.
(oper, guide covers this)

if this works,
ever consider a full tuneup? this decade? with filters?
if tuned up, then scan it to see if there are DTC errors cranking?
check for spark , during failures. ?
check for flooding? spark good,!
there are many causes of flooding, (spark good, tuned up)
  • too high fuel pressure
  • injectors leaking
  • fuel regulator bad.
  • no air supply starting, bad IAC STUCK CLOSED,
Try starting with 5% throttle ,creating a good human made, IAC, (fresh air)
each line has tests we do,, if you dont have tools, all this is just
water under the bridge.

do you want guessing (unsaid)
here:
  1. never tuned up.
  2. too high fuel pressure and flooding.
  3. and many more. i just rolled dice 2 times.

Flooded nissan xtrail. whats the 1st step to make it run again?

flooded as in parked in a pond?

remove the spark plugs
disable the fuel pump and ignition system
crank the engine to clear the combustion chamber
remove the fuel tank and replace
clear the fuel lines and replace the filter

speaking of filters, don't forget the air filter too

by then you might be ready to reassemble and try to start but first....change the oil and then cross your fingers

Eengine wont start has gas and spark?

Does it sound like its spinning or turning faster than normal? If so could just be flooded. Try cranking engine with excellerator 3/4 way down at 10 sec intervals with 2 min brake in between. These cars have always seemed to flood easy. And the air intake system is so enclosed it cant really dry out easy. I try that 3-4 times if it does seem like its trying to start or getting better than Id say tow to mechanic. Possible coil problems too? But seen alot of them flood out.
