Hi m8,, to have to put a booster on it ,,means the battery isny holdin a charge,,if they are stood 4 ages they dont last long,, u must 12v or just over to turn it over,, and while its runnin at least 14,7 volts goin in to the battery,, when it runs,or if u get it goin,, put a tester on the battery terminals,+ and - ,make sure theres 12v,, start her up,, and it should read 14v..if so then the altenater is fine ,,or if the lites get brighter as your revvin it up ,the altenater works fine, if it doesnt star again wen turned off,,,then battery has had it, and wont hold its charge..

No fuel or no spark. Quick test: spray some starter fluid into air intake and try to start it. If it runs and then dies, you've got spark but no fuel. If the bike quit with no prior symptoms, check spark plug wire not knocked loose, fuel filter clogged. (You do have gas, right?)

Have i broke my bike by moving power valve whilst running now its not starting

Hi, Anonymous I don't think so probably just flooded remove the spark plug kick it over a few times squirt some Brake Kleen or starting fluid on the plug and blow dry with compressed air and reinstall and you are good to go for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please visit the websites below. I connected booster to battery while battery was connected to bike and it sparked. I cannot get no electrical power to my 2001 suzuki katana 750

You may have accidentally connected the leads in reverse, or the booster was too big for a rather fragile system. If your battery is junk, a booster won't remedy the problem, it must have a good battery in the circuit. Make a careful visual inspection of all the wires off the battery, test particularly the positive lead for continuity, some bikes have an inline fuse or the cable itself acts as a fuse. If you have no lights or nothing chances are it's the primary (heavy) leads that's the culprit. Make sure your terminal connectors to the battery, and the black to where it grounds to the chassis are clean. Best of luck

Honda cbr 900 blade will cut out while riding. Changed solenoid, fuses all ok and enough fuel in. Will start with booster pack. Any ideas before I have to pay for it to be checked at a garage.

Check that you battery is charging. attach a volt meter and then start your bike. The voltage should be in the region of 14 volts DC when the engine speed is at twice the idle speed.

My 2004 dt 125re wont start on the electric start it just clicks any ideas ive changed the battery

Hi, David your bike is not a DT125RE all dirt bikes have kickers and no electric starters it should be noted that in order to "PROPERLY" diagnosis any electric starter issue it is "IMPERATIVE" that you begin with a fully charged battery 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a proper load test, and the usual suspects are:
1. Battery terminals have loose or corroded connections.
2. Battery cables faulty due corroded or broken internal wiring at the cable connector especially the "NEGATIVE" cable which needs to be checked at "BOTH" ends.
3. Battery voltage, 12.5 volts or better,to the main circuit breaker to the ignition switch to the security/ignition fuse to the TSM/TSSM module to the engine stop/run switch to the starter button to the starter relay to the green wire that connects to the starter solenoid has dropped more than 1/2 volt.
4. With a voltmeter connected to the battery, the ignition switch in the on position, the kill switch in the run position, the starter button depressed, starter engagement should not bring voltage below 8-9 volts.
If a lower voltage is produced a proper battery load test should be performed with a load tester to validate battery integrity or battery replacement.
5. Faulty starter relay, check continuity.
6. Faulty starter solenoid, check contact plate and shoes for excessive electrical erosion/etching, refurbish as necessary or invert contact plate and use the virgin backside. Check contact shoes for being loose. Replace solenoid if the negative function is still a final outcome.
7. Faulty starter, bench test starter with a 12-volt battery if negative function check, decontaminate and undercut armature commutator segments as necessary, check segments with an ohm-meter probe each one and the segment next to it for shorts. Have the armature tested with a growler and field coils, and brush plate with an ohm-meter for opens, shorts or grounds. Replace brushes if less than .438" It is generally cheaper to overhaul/refurbish a starter motor than buy a new one.

Hi, James and the usual suspects are:

4. Engine to transmission mounting bolts loose.
5. Upper engine mounting bracket loose.
6. Ignition timing incorrect due to a poorly tuned engine.
7. Internal engine problem flywheels have shifted.
8. Broken frame.
9. Stabilizer links worn or loose.

I went to start my bike today and have no power to the key. I have a full charge on the battery and have power to the relay. What else should I check?

Start with the battery connections (both), then the battery negative cable to chassis ground connection. Then check the man fuse should be right there by the main relay under a cover.
