SOURCE: crf100 has a weak spark

You may have dirt/water in-/ behind the stator plate, remove right side (as you sit on it) plate and check for any kind of debris. Clean and find point of entry - repair and seal.

SOURCE: 2006 crf100 no spark

You have 2 basic possibilities,

  • A kill switch is active
  • The ignition control module has gone bad
The stock spark plug is an NGK CR7HSA. Is a kill switch on? Does the side stand have a kill switch? Is it working properly? Check the operation of all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter.

Check the wiring harness. Did a wire come unplugged? Are all wires clean and with solid connections? Any abraded or pinched wires? If still no spark, get CDI system checked at the dealers shop.

A top rating on this answer? Thanks!

Weak spark

This is just a shot in the dark but have you checked your ground wire from the battery to the engine/frame.A bad ground wire could be rotten on the inside and you would never know it.This would give you a bad path for current completion and therefore a weak spark.Just a thought Good luck

2002 Nissan frontier stall in reverse only when cold, when warm its ok

check spark plugs. think if 4 years old some amount of miles on them they should be changed. a lot can be sorted from just changing the spark plugs. if plugs are sutty or brown they should be changed. also when was the fuel filter last changed. that may be time it should be changed. and air filter as well. not the right anout of fuel getting to the spark plugs from a blocking up filter can do this weak spark plugs. air filter being blocked also.

Had no spark cleaned dis cap it was bad and changed crank senser now have spark but weak

How weak? You need to use an adjustable spark tester and the end of the plug wire. It should be able to jump at least 1/2"

Weak spark,willnot start,changed plug

A weak spark can be attributed to a number of issue:
1. Wire from the magnetto to the spark plug is saturated with oil (clean well with degreaser)
2. Spark plug cap deteriorated. (most are not easily replaceable)
3. Spark plug fouled (insure you are using new)
4. Significant build up of rust on the flywheel (lightly sand rust off)
5. Bad Magnetto or CDI (especially if it has gotten wet or is cracked.) Note: (Cost typically prohibitive for replacement).
6. Spark plug gap significantly out of specs. (Regap to specs, retry)

If you are certain you have a weak spark, these are typical causes. Often, more likely problem is carburation, fuel filter and/or fuel lines - which are much easier and less expensive fixes! Hope for the fuel lines being cracked...Good luck :)

Won't run. has spark (weak)fuel to fuel rail.

id be leaning twords a coil pack on this one, if the spark is weak change the plugs and wires first since its cheaper, then if that doesnt cure it change the coil pack.
