Sounds like a stuck float. try gently tapping on side of carb near bottom where float assembly is located to see if it frees up if it doesn't you will need to remove and clean your carb and check your float adj.

Hi .... Switch off the petrol at the tank stopcock/petrol tap. Using the correct sized screwdriver unscrew (anti-clockwise) the screw in the float bowl of the carb (it's the one at 45 or 90 degrees) ......... petrol, water & possibly debris will come out. If you place a plastic tin cap underneath you'll be able to see what comes out, do this in a well ventilated area with NO naked flames. Re-tighten screw, switch on petrol and see if OK. Let us know how you get on.

I have oil coming through carburator. Is there a vacuum line cloggedor what?

Check your oil level. If your vacuum petcock or float bowls are over flowing gas into the engine, your oil is diluted with gas, the crankcase is too full, gasoline diluted oil is blowing through the breather tube into the air box, and from the air box into the carburetor. Needles sticking in the carburetors can happen at any time even to new motorcycles. If you have vacuum petcocks inspect the vacuum diaphragms for leaking. Clean the carburetors and replace the float needles if they show wear. Change the gas fouled oil and filter. Hope this helps.

hi,sounds like the float in the carb is stuck in the fully open position, you will have to take the carb out, take the bowl off the bottom of the carb and inspect the float needle assembly, the little clip that holds the float to the needle valve may have come off, allowing fuel to run unchecked into the carb and ultimately out through the overflow..hope this helps..cheers

I have a 03 Yamaha 660 raptor one of the carbs

Did you reset (adjust)the float inthe float chamber to tht carburator which is leaking ?
You will probabley have to adjust tht float to stop from overflowing in other words we call it flooding.
Check the float pin of wear at the tip.
Hope this helps!

What you describe is correct. EIther the floats in the carb are sticking up and allowing gas to flow, or the air/fuel ratio screw on bottom of carb is turned up to high. If it just started, then floats are stuck or set to high.

Motorcycle leaking gas from an unknown tube.

sounds like you got a cracked gas line or it needs a clamp on it,1.if it a line running from each carb. that is the overflow lines.2.if its one big one coming from the breather box it is a catch holes, and you open it to let whats in it run out.

Float hieght for 1984 IT 490

not sure of the exact height, but if you hold the carb level with fuel hose attached and pushing float up with finger, turn on petcok and slowly lower the float until it is just above horizontal. at this point, gas should start to flow out of the needle & seat.

if float turns off gas too soon, then engine will starve.

if float doesn't turn off gas, then it will flow out of the carb overflow tube.
