I recently changed my battery (October). The engine stalled at stops every time. We increased the idle. It was fine. Took it in for inspection a(December) and the computer says "waiting for response". The guy told us we needed to reset the computer ($100). We took the negative cable off over night and restarted the truck in the am. It was fine. We took the idel back to where it was supposed to be and drove it to work. It stalled at each and every stop. HELP!!!!! Any help is much appreciated!
Remove the cable again. Then when you start it allow it to idle for 20 mins in park.
I ran into same problem recently with my Mitsubishi. After battery replacement, there were no starting problems but after driving 2 kms, it begins to shut down the engine whenever I press the clutch and brake to stop the car.
I google the problem and understood that car computer needs to be reset. So to reset car computer, one needs to disconnet the battery. I remove the negative cable from battery for 15 mnts. After placing back the cable, i go on drive for 15 kms. and the problem is solved now.
Your idle adaptive memory was erased when your battery died and you need to clean the throttle body. Solution is here:
