SOURCE: front end vibration

Check if there's any play within the bearings..top and bottom of the triple tree. Put your bike on the center stand and ask someone to sit onthe bike seat and tht way it will raise in the front, try to shake the triple tree into forward and backward motion, if you do find some play thn try to adjust them(bearing)...careful not to keep em tight or else you wont get a good balance on the steering whiles riding!
Check the bushing at the handle bar too!
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: 1999 kawasaki Drifter Vibration

I have owned my 1500 since new, the vibration around 50mph I would say is normal for this motor..I think it is just the resonance of the engine at this RPM...On my own bike I replaced the U joint( which wasn't defective) wheel balance and brg problems eliminated, etc. As for the remaining vibration by pulling in the clutch and the vibs go away.Gagets stated in an
e-mail it could be rubber harmonic balancers in the engine that got brittle may be the problem..Also I think worn motor mounts may contribute to the problem. My only concern is getting stuck somewhere...My drivetrain is ok so I'll live with a little vibration until I have to take the engine apart for some reason.

I have 2006 harley FLH CVO WITH NEW TRUE DUAL EXHAUST AND POWER COMMANDER THAT HAS A BAD VIBRATION AT IDOL

the only thing spinning and vibrating at idle is the crankshaft, gear box , clutch and flywheel
if the power commander is electronic there may be a fault in it
best place for these faults is a dealer shop as they are aware of these sorts of problems

2005 dyna wide glide...fuel injected...have engine vibration during acceleration...bike is smooth free wheeling at 70 mph...vibration returns with engine speed...need help

I'd check the motor mounts. The front mount is easy to get to but the rear isn't quite so easy. I'd check the front mount and the top engine stabilzer.

I assume that you've owned this bike long enough to know how it should feel. The Dyna series has rubber engine mounts. They do a very good job of dampening engine vibration once the engine gets up in it's rpm range. When the engine is idling, the vibrations can be felt then. When accelerating, you can feel some vibration but it should be bad.

Check your engine mounts and your primary chain adjustment. If it's something to do with the fuel system, I'm afraid that a dealer is going to have to check that for you. Good Luck!

I have a CRF100 and it has excessive vibration

Make sure all of the engine mounting bolts are tightened properly. One loose engine mount bolt can cause exactly what you are describing. While you're doing that, perform a visual inspection of the attachment points on the frame, making sure there are no visible cracks.
Aside from that, just stick a wrench on every bolt and nut on the bike that you can see - and make sure everything is tight.
The only other possible thing I can think of would be a loose flywheel on the crankshaft. Unlikely, but check just to be sure.

Check the engine mounts to the frame. these are isolated by rubber and you may have broken one gettin' on it at the light.

Vibration below 4000rpm

Hello cloaky...does the vibration seem to be more RPM related than speed related on your gixxer? Can it be felt more through the grips, or foot pegs? Any noise along with the vibration?
The 99 GSX-R600 has been subject to recall for the replacement of it's faulty cam chain tensioner (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 99V132000) Dealer supplied and installed at no charge under warranty... corrected the problem of cam chain tension but the damage of shorten chain life for most owners, had already occured. Didn't know if you were aware of this...so i thought i would mention it.
Hope this helps...

My '73 Norton 850 Commando handlebars vibrates at idle.

Hi pl427
I love these bikes. Vertical twins of this era vibrate, is just how it goes. Engine design was simple back then and no counter shafts are used, so there is a degree of vibration at low revs produced by 2 big bore pistons that will make the handle bars get a real bogey on at idle.  If the carbs are out of sync,or need a tune, then you may have a lazy clyinder at idle that is producing the vibration also. Not sure if your bike has them, but some have rubber bushes that mount the handlebars. These can get sloppy with age and may need to be replaced. Another trick if the vibration is anoying you is to mix some lead shot with silicon and fill the ends of the handle bars up to "weight" them and reduce the vibration.
click here to see one walking on its center stand. Notice the way everything is vibrating on this old girl.

Vibration

The carbs should be synchronized every 20k miles. If you are having a roughness in idle then I would recommend the carbs being synched. If the problem is at higher RPM's I'd check to see if the motor has a harmonic dampener that can be adjusted. This often resolves vibration issues. I'm just not sure if this bike has one. These big bikes usually have some sort of adjustable dampening device internally.
I'd also like to have you check the motor mounts. This is a common problem if your bike has any rubber in the motor mounts. The rubber wears or even breaks and you often cannot see it until you actually try to remove the mount. Often they will fall apart in your hands.
These big motors all vibrate a bit so many of the manufacturers have realized that adding modified motor mounts is helpful.

Vibration Problem

try to isolate where it is coming from. try listening with a screwdriver held against your ear and various locations on the running motor. does it happen in neutral or when moving, ect.? might want to drain the oil and cut open the filter to see how things look.maybe your flywheel got loose?

my bike makes some vibration when the engine revs around 4500 RPM. It's atomado tre 900 le . Someone else had such bike or such problem ? I was thinking of putting some rubber under de clip on to help reduce it. Any more suggestions? are the engine mounts worn?? maybe you need to replace the boots/bushings on the mounts.,
