Brake light doesn't work

Hi, Anonymous this is geared towards Harley's but the principles are the same before diagnosing any brake light issue always check the bulb and fuse first for integrity a brake light staying on is usually caused by the front brake light switch, which is mechanical, not disengaging. On early models moving the throttle control housing closer to the front brake master cylinder is the main fix. On late models, the switch gets tweaked and needs to be realigned. A brake light that does not come on when the brake lever is applied can be caused by a faulty switch or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. The rear brake light switch is hydraulic and it is extremely rare to malfunction in a closed circuit condition causing the brake light to stay on. Usually, rear brake light switch issues are caused by no brake pedal free play or a sticky rear master cylinder piston. A brake light that does not come on when the rear brake pedal is depressed can be caused by a faulty switch, air contamination in the brake line, or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. 1993 Honda CBR 1000 F tail lights not working

Hi, Anonymous tail light issues are relatively easy to diagnose and repair always check the tail light fuse first and make sure you have power on both sides of the fuse holder and the usual suspects are:
1. Tail light bulb element is broken.
2. Tail light bulb soldered contacts are extremely worn down.
3. Tail light bulb socket corroded.
4. Tail light bulb socket has no power and or ground.
5. Tail light wiring harness damaged from the rear tire.
6. Tail light rear fender wiring harness connector faulty due to corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.

1992 Honda CBR 600 F2 headlight not working

Hi, Gary if your headlight is not working, intermittent, only one beam works, keeps burning out, blinking, dim or surges from bright to dim to bright the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, then check your head light bulb socket ground wire for a clean tight connection, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn down solder contacts or loose fit of the bulb base in the socket due to vibration.
3. Worn, chafed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
4. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
5. Faulty hi/low beam switch.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
8. Faulty headlight relay.
9. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
10. Weak charging alternator/generator/lighting coil
11. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier ground or overcharging.

When brakes are applied parking and dash board lights come on.when headlights are on,brake lights and tail lights do not work.very first symptom was an intermittent tail or brake light out indicator...

you might have an open ground wire on your brake/tail lights .. when you apply the brakes then power would flow thru the brake light (not see ground) so would then provide power backwards thru the parking light (common ground open) to all the other things connected to the parking lights .. like the other parking lights and dash ... when you turn power on to those things (headlights on) then there is 12 volts on both sides of the light .. thats why the lights quit working ... if the missing ground is the problem then most of the lights that are improperly turning on should be at a lowered brightness level.. interesting problem .. its also possible to have a brake light bulb that has the common ground open inside or not making connection with its socket .. i would start by removing the brake lamps and see if the problem goes away .. if it does look for a broken ground or damaged lamp ..

00 CBR F4 brake lights dont come on when applied

Have you tried powering the brak circuit itself at bulb. If it comes on then you need to find broken wire between light and switches. Since neither work if you can trace to where they meet break should be behind that.
