SOURCE: How to wire a tach on 05 heritage softail

Locate & route Black lead to ground / 2004-later softail: On the frame strap under the seat directly in front of the battery.

Locate & route the pink lead to Signal / For 2004 & later FXST/C/I The #3 cavity in the connector {39b} on the back of the speedometer. The socket terminal on the signal (pk) lead fits the #3 cavity.

Locate & route the Orange and white lead to power / Ummm.. it's saying for 2004 and later to adapt to the fuse block For earlier [ For 1996 to 2003 softail: locate the power lead (o/w) in the tail lamp pin connector {7a} under the seat behind the right rear corner of he battery.] "here you are looking to run it to a fused line, not directly to power/battery" I hope this helped.

SOURCE: hooking up a tach on a 89 harley sportster 883,

Most aftermarket tachometers will employ a 3 wire system. A "power" wire, a "signal" wire and a "ground" wire. On a stock Sportster's ignition coil there will be 2 terminals/posts. 1 post will have a set of white wire on it the other a blue or pink wire. White is switched 12VDC (vehicle power) and the blue/pink is the secondary side of the coil (signal). I'd really need more information to be most helpful.

I have a jvc kdavx1 trying to hook up to a 2000 buick reagal need to know how the wires hook up

Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

2000 Buick Regal Car Stereo Install Diagram jvc kdavx1
Radio Constant 12V+ Wire: Orange yellow
Radio Ignition Switched 12V+ Wire: Yellow red
Radio Ground Wire: Black/White black
Radio Illumination Wire: Gray/Black orange/white
Left Front Speaker Wire (+): Tan white
Left Front Speaker Wire (-): Gray white/black
Right Front Speaker Wire (+): Light Green gray
Right Front Speaker Wire (-): Dark Green gray/black
Left Rear Speaker Wire (+): Brown green
Left Rear Speaker Wire (-): Yellow green/black
Right Rear Speaker Wire (+): Dark Blue purple
Right Rear Speaker Wire (-): Light Blue purple/black
parking brake: blue light green

For this last wire, access the back of the parking brake to find a switch with a blue wire. Peel some insulation from the wire and wrap the stripped end of a 3 foot piece of 16 or 18 gauge wire around the stripped section. Solder and wrap the connection with electrical tape, route the wire to the jvc, then strip and solder the other end to the pigtail of the head unit.

If you are also installing a camera seeing behind you when backing, you will need to run a wire to the back-up light on the driver side reverse light (light green) wire along with your video cable.

Ceiling Fan

Green is always equiptment ground. It goes to the green wire ,if you have one in the electric outlet box,or mounted to the box itself itf you have not the green in the box.
Green always  to green White to white. Nutural wire. Orange to black if their is no black in the box. Orange =Black
I am also thinking that you blue will is also the positive for the fan. I woudl hook it to your orange also .  .
