Vvt malfunctoin on a perodua kelisa

no PROBLEM STATED AT ALL
NO ENGINE PROBLEM
NO TRANSMISSION PROBLEM
there is one in side the oil filter,.
JUST A WILD HUNT/


NO engine told. 3.8L in USA yes. ANSWERED
MY ESP , HINTS CAM SHAFT.

engine oil pump reg
transmission oil pump reg and a pile of oil control valves.
the engine 1 of 2 has VVT, valve timing cam controls.
looking for the VVT solenoid valves>? OCV
This system uses two oil control valves, one on each bank

below 800 is hard fail fix this first. 8oo hot and 1500 cold is normal.
there are vast causes, and lots of test for me to find and I have all tools here to do so.
but matters not to you.
1: egr valve stuck open
2: ISC stuck closed
3: iac valve noT working at all.
the ECU controls idle so if way low that means for a FACT the ECU HAS NOW LOST CONTROL IF IDLE AND WILL HEARD TO HUNT THE ISC IN THE HOPE IT WAKES UP FROM THE jAMP UP.
OK? ISC+ PCM FORMS A SERVO LOOP, (ENG. TERMS) SORRY.

FOR SURE HOT 800 RPM REGULATION VIA ISC VALVE..

CAM BELT SLIPPED, NO ENGINE TOLD SO MUST ADD THIS.
VVT DEAD.SURE.
PCM IN LIMPHOME MODE , DTC LOTS FORGOT THE SCAN THE PCM AND CHECK ALL FUSES?
TBW, THROTTLE BY WIRE DEAD. AND LIMPHOME.

well it is on the cam for sure, or it could not read it.
the question is how many are there, Some DOHC have 2 CMP sensors ,
I will read your SM service manual to you now, (so could you )
all my answers are USA using a real SM for our cars here.
that is the Mazda L3 engine,
ok is IS DOHC , twin CAM head and chain drive, GOOD.
it shows VVT there if VVT fails so can spark.
CMP has only 2 pins, (so is not HALL sensor so is weak)
Okay I read ever PCM Pins, and only ONE CMP this car.
so now where is it at. knowing its only 1.
some VVT engines run 2x CMP. to get better accuracy

The recommendation interval should be in the owners manual, but I would think every 3 years and 60,000 kms should be fine.

try the engine compartment these type of fuses are usually located in the relay box for brake

Check the battery voltage. It should be around 12.5 volts. Much below that and it might be an issue with the battery.
Another rule of thumb method to check the battery is by turning on the vehicle's lights and starting. If the lights dim considerably when starting, then the battery is likely in poor condition and may need replacement.

First ensure that the throttle interior is really clean, a surface layer of grime can upset the ECU's ability to meter and govern the air entering the engine. If the throttle body interior is found to be really oily and dirty check on the idle air control valve and make sure that it too is cleaned up. Next put the ignition switch in position 2 (on, but no start) and depress the accelerator fully and release. If there is an issue with the throttle position sensor this procedure can help the ECU relocate the throttle plate position. Start the engine and if it is still hunting locate the air mass meter (AMM) on the air ducting immediately next to the air filter and disconnect the electrical connection. Does this remove the hunting aspect?... the rev speed might change but for the moment concentrate on the evenness of the tick-over. If the idle is even when the AMM is disconnected but hunts when connected then look at replacing your AMM. Try spraying the AMM with no residue electrical cleaning spray to see if this improves matters.

This is most probaly a sticky trottle control whitch need to be replaced and then updated with new software.
Dealers are aware of this trouble, but most offen denies the fact if you ask.
Costs--- 200euro, three years ago!

Thanks to some advice I have fixed the problem with my Granada. The pipe work from the exhaust manifold to the inlet manifold has a short piece of plastic pipe which needed replacing. This seems to have done the trick.

I would like to thank you for running this site. Without it I would still be re-starting my car each time I stop at a red light!
