Huskavarna snowblower fuel line

My snowblower this am would start but quickly sputter out. When I push the primer bulb it sounds like air is moving instead of gas. Can I fix this on my own or should I take it in?

Toro s-620 fuel primer button broke

any primer bulb will work if you install it between gas tank and carb in the fuel line

Snowblower carburetor primer not pushing any fuel

Did you replace the fuel lines as well?; the rule of thumb is, when changing out the fuel lines- you should replace the primer bulb since they are a barometer of each others condition and wear.

If you did not remove the primer bulb from the carburetor when you were cleaning the component parts (and predicated that the primer bulb is mounted on the carburetor, as opposed to being mounted remotely from it)- the solvents used to clean the carburetor could have broken down the plastic or rubber material that makes up the primer bulb- hence suction leaks or complete failure.

If you did remove the bulb assembly, make sure you snugged everything up and there's a tight seal. I would still replace it anyway- they're inexpensive.

BTW, you mentioned you are using "fresh high grade fuel"- are you using premium grade gas? If so, save your money and use an 87 regular octane gas.

What you should be concerned with is- the use of ethanol. In many mid-western states, gasoline is blended with 10-15% ethanol- which can absorb water from the atmosphere and cause corrosion in the fuel system.

The money you save from buying regular unleaded could be used to buy a fuel stabilizer, which I highly recommend you use. Gas is only good for about 30 days and then the volatile compounds in it begin to evaporate- leaving brown gummy deposits that will eventually harden like varnish- which can plug up the fuel lines and carburetor.

Please let me know how you make out. Best wishes on your project.

I can't get it to start. Don't think the gas is moving when I pump it to start it. When I push on the bulb, it doesn't appear to pick up fuel.

Is the primer bulb filling with fuel.? If not then you either have a hole in the primer bulb or a hole in the fuel line, you mat also have a blocked primer bulb base.

My Husqvarna 128LD primer bulb will not fill with gas

The primer bulb does not have to be full of fuel for the carburetor and trimmer to operate correctly. The actual function of the purge/primer bulb is to help pull fresh fuel into the carburetor while at the same time, push old fuel/air out of the carb and back to the fuel tank. You may have bad check valves in the primer base assembly but, the machine can even operate if the bulb is only even 1/2 full or so...Make sure the fuel is moving in only one direction during and after the bulb is pushed and released. If it's not....bad check valves. These valves are very small and fragile and easily damaged by strong solvents, high PSI compressed air...and carburetor bath type cleaners. You didn't state whether the machine will start, run, what have you. Repost if needed. Please vote on this solution.

Fuel dont get in carbruator put gas in the carb thru the choke it starts but dies .i put a new gasline in it and a new carb kit Why dose pressure build in the fuel tank i removed the fuel line and gas...

When you prime/puge your carburetor, make sure fuel (w/ no air) is moving from the fuel tank towards the body of the carb. Also, make sure that there is fuel/air bubbles leaving the primer bulb and going back towards the fuel tank...and that when you push the bulb down and release it, there is no fuel movement in either line. If fuel does move when letting up on the bulb, you either have the fuel lines reversed or, the check valves in the primer base assembly are not functioning. The primer/puge valve's funcion is to draw fresh fuel into the fuel pump side of the carb and to push old fuel/air from the metering chamber side of the carb back to the fuel tank. Here is proper fuel routing:
This is an ongoing issue for users, and rightfully so. Small diameter line out of fuel tank (has filter in-tank on end) connects to the side of the carburetor that has the fuel pump....that is the cover without the hole in it. Other larger diameter fuel line out of tank connects to the longer nipple on the external purge/primer bulb. The bulb "pulls" fresh fuel from the fuel tank to the carb and then out of the carb to itself, where it then pushes any air/old fuel back into the fuel tank. The remaining larger diameter fuel line in this setup goes from the metering chamber (has cover with writing on it and a vent-hole) side of the carburetor to the smaller nipple on the purge/primer bulb. Years ago on 2-stroke trimmers, primers were not even used,...you choked the carb with a slide lever and gravity let fuel enter the carb from above...a few pulls, a "pop"...slide it off of choke and away you went.
If the purge/primer bulb is on top of the carb...small line from carb body to small hole in tank with filter. Larger diameter line goes from the bulb on the fuel pump side of the carb to the larger hole in the fuel tank where the line is held in place with a nylon nipple connector that keeps the line from pulling out of the tank.

My trimmer came with no fuel lines connected to the primmer bulb. Does the longer nipple on the bulb get the line from the tank? What about the other nipple?

If your trimmer is brand new, you could take it back and receive another one that has the lines hooked up or go back where you bought it and LOOK at the same model and note the fuel lines routing.
Or you can try the fuel lines one way and if no success starting, switch them around and try to start the machine.
On these machines the "primer bulb" is actually a "puge" bulb that moves (pushes) air and old fuel out of the carb back into the fuel tank while drawing (pulls) fresh fuel from the tank into the carb.
Some lawn mowers have actual "primer" bulbs on their carbs.

I have a homelitejacobsen 320 snowblower i replaced the primer bulb with one that has a single line running to it after it starts gas starts squrting out of the hole on the primer bulb how do i stop this

You need a "wet" primer bulb for the Jacobsen / Homelite snowblowers. A wet primer actually pumps gas - not air - a primer bulb with a hole in it was designed to pump air.

If you need a "wet" primer bulb email me and I will tell you where to get one for around $10 - basscatt at hotmail dot com
