I have a 2005 Shadow Aero in excellent condition w/ only 6200 miles. A few weeks ago, the battery died. I replaced the battery, charged it, and it ran fine for 2 weeks. This morning, when I turned the key, all the lights came on, but it wouldn't crank. I suspected a power leak somehwere, so I charged the battery again. After it was fully charged, I tried to crank it and it wouldn't start. The starter turns, the lights dim, but it won't turn over. Please help.

check starter relay first this will be the part thats clicking and will have two thick battery leads on it,,,if you short across the two thick battery leads the starter should turn the engine over,,if this works change the relay,,if nothing happens when you short the two battery leads across then its a starter fault

Have you checked to see if there is a spark at the plugs? When you pull one of the plugs, if the plug is drenched in fuel then it is flooded. Pull each plug and dry it off as best you can. Let the cylinders air out for a while before you put the plugs back in.

if the starter is jammed, you can probably get it up on the center stand put it in top gear and **** the rear wheel back and fourth. that may do it. or jumping the starter itself may do it.

Try new battery, check grounding contacts for corrosion, clean the contacts on batt cables at both ends.
