Brake light does not work

2002 suzuki 1500 (30 k) : brake light does not work at all ,foot and lever neither work , so far I have just changed the bulb ,still not working .
When I recently purchased the bike ,the 2 small highway headlights had a blown fuse that I repaired with a new fuse ,I checked all other fuses in the fuse box and that is where I stopped . Thanks

have a suzuki gsx 650f brought in 2012 model with only 1200 miles on the clock. It's just had it's first service and I have been informed that the brake light is not working I have changed the bulb yet the brake light still does not come on using foot or front handle lever. Can you offer some advice as to what the problem could be. I also noted at the rear under the seat where the rear bike light sits a cable with a white connector on it that is not connected to nothing however the other end of it is no where to be seen so I was wondering if that cable is suppose to be like that. Can you help with this also. Thanks

Remove the bulbs step on the brake and ck for power at the terminals inside the socket if no power back track the wires and look for a break in the wires.use a didgital volt meter and ck for continuity through the switches( unplug the switch and put the probes to both terminals one on each the meter should beep ---switch good.........
no beep switch bad) also ck the bk. light relay ,not sure where it is at....more extensive problem ??? the dealer sells service the manual with all the wireing diadrams and locations of the components all u need to fix any thing on u bike .....my 82 honda saber had lots of electrical prob's & lighting prob,s i bought the service manual and fixed every thing... saved me hundreds o $$$$$$$$$$$$

I had the same problem with my 2002 Suzuki intruder 1500. To fix the problem I adjusted the rear brake light switch, till the break light worked. The break light switch is located by the break pedal piviot. It is connected the smaller spring next to the rear break pedal.

What will make the back running lights not work but the turn signals do and the brake light don't work from the foot pedal but does work from the hand lever on a 2006 1200 sporster

Normally, on most Harleys, the rear turn signals are just that, and not running lights.
If yours DID function as running lights as well as turn signals, then check the bulbs.
If they're incandescent bulbs and not LEDs, they should have 2 elements, and 1 of the elements might be burned out.

As far as the brake light not working from the rear brake pedal, it might be the switch itself, or a wire could have came unplugged.

Brake light will not come on on foot pedal on 2008 ultra classic where is switch

Hi Anonymous, always check bulbs and fuses first, then follow the rear brake line from the rear brake master cylinder towards the rear brake caliper when you come to the metal tee you found out where the rear brake light switch lives. Use a test light to check for continuity. Good luck

Brake light stays on

There is a switch on the brake lever and one on the brake pedal. try and work them with WD-40 to loosen dirt and lube them up. If that does not work you may have to change one or the other. It helps to put the rear of the bike up against a wall or something to see if the light goes on and off as you work the hand or foot brake.

Brake Light problems on a Honda SH125 (2006)

elec. dose not know what kind off bike its on so don't worry about that. get a test light ( any parts store will have most are a few bucks ) take the light and you see two litttle metal dots, hook your test light on something that is grounded... the ground on the battery, the motor ect.... one touch the point off the test light to the metal dots if both make it light up then your brake light is stuck on. If so start at you swtich on the LH side foot peg, there will be a spring that hooks to the swtich and brake lever make sure it is not hung up on something. Unhook the spring and check the light. If your front brake light is working then adj the switch, unplug the swtich so you can turn it screw it down and it will lower where the spring hooks to it so the switch turns off hook the spring back up and try it. If when you test your bulb plug and both metal dots don't light up then yes your not get power check your fuse

Brake lights don't work on 1983 yamaha ventura.

Does the taillight work? If not, it's probably a grounding issue.
Does the brake light not work for both foot and hand brake? If so (and the taillight works) it's probably the wire running to the brake light (might even be an unplugged connector. Check continuity from the far side of that switch to the bulb terminal.
