Not a big difference if only a few quarts sure better than running it low most of the time the wrong oil only changes the gas millage some cars require synthetic oils they are more picky on what they have but as i said the wrong oil is better than no or low oil any day

SOURCE: Can putting 10w30 synthetic oil instead of 5w30

5w 30 is much thinner than 10w 30. Most newer vehicles require 5w30

I personally like synthetic oils because the viscocity adjusts with the temperature in all climates and weather. No need to change every season

SOURCE: put wrong oil in chrysler 300 engine light came on

If you put anything other then Motor oil in the car then do not drive it and change the oil were it sits ASAP.If Motor oil was put in the car, change you oil with the correct oil.Ask for help at your local auto parts store for the correct oil, But i would advise to let someone else do it.

SOURCE: my 2000 toyota corolla has been losing at least 2

You need to determine where the oil is being lost. Open the hood and look for traces of oil. Place a clean piece of cardboard under the car and idle the engine - at the rate you are losing oil, you should see where the oil is dripping onto the cardboard within a few minutes, then work upward from there. Possibilities: Crankshaft seal (passenger side of engine), valve cover gasket (top of engine), main seal (driver side of engine). Any of these can go bad, far many reasons.

My 05 equinox is using oil but don't see oil on surfaces where parked &no oil on engine where is it going

If you don't see any oil under or on the outside of the engine then it has to be burning it thru the exhuast due to worn piston rings or piston rings that have'nt seated yet.

When I took the car for an oil chane after I purchased it the tech showed me the filter, it was COVERED in black sludge. Which explained the oil light flickering on and off and the check engine light the...

I see this all the time! That's what happens when the oil is not changed regularly. If your oil light is still coming on, it is because there is severe damage to the engine bearings, connecting rods, valve lifters, cylinder walls and probably the crankshaft and camshaft. That is pretty much the WHOLE engine. Your only choices are:
> Replace it with a new/remanufactured engine (this choice will come with the best warranty, but you'll pay for it).
> Replace it with a used engine (cross your fingers and pray you get a good one - hopefully, one that has been properly maintained and isn't nearly as bad as the one you are replacing).
> Remove your engine, overhaul it, and put it back in (very time-consuming and usually has very little warranty).
> Sell the car "AS-IS" or trade it in on a new car. (you probably won't get much unless you sell the car NOW while the engine still runs).

I have customers that continually go WAY overdue for their oil changes. They use excuses like "I didn't have the time" or "I just couldn't afford to get the oil changed". I try to warn them of the possibilities. I tell them that they cannot afford to NOT change the oil, but they just ignore my efforts and come back way overdue the next time. I should refer them to you!

How much oild to put in the ac compreeser

unless you are changing a new compressor you should not have to add any oil in there. Do not put oil since the compressor already has enough oil in it. If you put oil in there and it already has oil, the AC system will not function properly because it has too much oil. How much oil to put in there is determined how much is already in there.

MY CAR IS TICKING JUS GOT A OIL CHANGE AND THEY PUT 10W30 IS THAT THE WRONG OIL

Can't see that hurting it no, but it sounds or may be your pins hitting the top pan covers, I took my truck in to a mechanic friend for the same problem and what he had tried and I'm sorry I can't remember what the stuff was called but it was really thick and after he poured a little bit in, told me to rev a bit and what it did was reset my heads again and the ticking went away. Sadly is a result of starting and driving right away without letting the engine and fluids warm up. A Lube expert should know what I'm on about. Taking it back and asking if they did put wrong Oil in it wouldn't hurt any and it's a good start to have them hopefully look it over and give it a shot of my super thick goop stuff (lol).good luck

Where is the oil filter for a 2005 chevy cavalier located

ECOTec 2.4 Liter engine (and all ECOTec engine blocks in 4 cylinder sizes) have a cartridge type oil filter housing on the front of the block, driver's side of the vehicle.

The cap must be removed with a wrench, and the filter pulled out, then the new one put in. Now is usually a good time to replace the O-ring on the cap.

Put wrong oil in chrysler 300 engine light came on i change oil to the right oil light still on

you may have sludged up the oil pump and now have too little pressure, get to a garage asap and get it checked before any engine damage occurs, if the light is on then the pressure is low and you risk a blown bottom end or worse.

1995 GMC YUKON I HAVE CHANGE THE OIL SENDING UNIT THE OIL GAUGE IS STILL DROPPING TO 20 PSI WHEN EITHER AT A STOP OR IDLING I HOPING THAT THE OIL PUMP NOT GOING I CANT AFFORD TO REBUILD A MOTOR THIS TIME...

you will need to put a pressure gauge right on the engine to see whats real. Do an oil service with filter. This could help, If the pressure is stll low you could put a oil pump in and hope for the best. As long as you have pressure you should be ok. 20psi at idle can be a sign of old oil so cross your fingers.
