SOURCE: 1989 ducati 750 sport brake problem
Check to make sure the spring that is attatched to the brake is not worn out.
If it is a cable operated brake, which I dont think it would be, check to make sure the cable inside the brake line is not rusted and moves freely. if it doesnt you will need to replace that.
Last but not least, if it has drum breaks, which it probably has, check the spring inside the drum to make sure that operates correctly.
If a spring gets old sometimes you can get lucky and spray some lubricant (WD-40) and get it to work.
SOURCE: fuel pump ducati 750 sport 2002 runs at times, but mostly not
Your fuel pump is vacuum operated, I would look for a crack in the rubber somewhere. Also, the side stand, the bike will start with it down, but will shut off the second you put it in gear. I have a 2002 S4.
Testimonial: "sidest. switch OK. Short wiring pump doesn't make it run! Emptied tank, found a loose part with o-ring seal on the bottom. Dealer tomorrow "
SOURCE: My Ducati 750 Monster Battery is Dead. What kind ...
A smaller car 12v 4 or 5 amps charger will do the job, the slower the battery is charged the better, so use the lower setting if available.
charge it out of the bike, this way you can check the water level, and if it overflows it wont spray acid over your engine and frame.
If it doesnt start the bike after a charge, get a new battery, as running a sad battery can overload the charging electrics. and dont jump start it of a car battery that will accept more amps than the bike can produce

Go to the ducati forum home site and look up your bike and copy it, I'm sure somebody has measurements, but you will have to dig them up. Hope this helps.
