Suzuki Ignis gearbox problem, can not select first gear. Intermittent problem with first gear, sometime it clears by declutching a few times. Most of the time it is necessary to turn the ignition off to clear the problem. Is this a known problem and is there a solution? It is a 2004 model.

SOURCE: Car gear change - Suzuki Swift

I can confirm the fault is with the nylon bush lifting in the gear lever housing at the base of the gear lever. The dealer has yet to replace mine, however I have carried out a very temorary repair by fitting a cable tie around the circumference of the housing. lift the gaitor from around the gear lever to access. I have not had a problem since. This car is a driving school car and obviously does a lot of gear changes. If the parts are changed but no modification is carried out I am sure the fault will re occur, however at least I know the fault and can overcome it.

SOURCE: Jaguar X SE 2.5 gearbox problem

hey johnhoile,

Sorry to break the bad new to you, put you most likely need a transmission depending on what codes are stored in the system. I have dont numerous automatic transmission on x-types all they all started with a gear box fault light on.

If the codes have something to do with a incorrect gear ration that is a guarantee red flag for a new transmission

SOURCE: Intermittent Gearbox Fault

Suggest you get the TCU codes read (Jaguar dealer or well equipped auto box specialist). Suggest you don't go component changing without a believable diagnosis, could be TCU, could be pressure or speed/load sensors, lots of things, many not as expensive as a new TCU!

How to adjust the clock on a Suzuki ignis 2018

Turn the stick to the right seven times, until you reach "clock settings" and press once. Turn the analogue stick to the right again until you reach "adjust clock" and press again. Here you can turn the stick either left or right again until you select the correct time

G'day
As painfull as this sounds you will probably have to take off the cover around yor gear stic and do a visual inspection. Most manufacturers use plastic bushes in the linkages that once worn seem to lock up at the most annoying time. The bush's are not expensive to replace but time consuming. A quick short term fix is to give the whole assembly a good spray of WD 40 or Inox or any good spray on lubricant.
Good luck.

When i shift into third the gears grind.. why?

sounds like the syncromesh has gone in the gearbox. If you dont want them to grind, you,ll have to double declutch. I f you cant do this, get a new gearbox.

Car was not serviced in time.auto clutch stop adjusting in drive

Hello and welcome to FixYa. My friend you have either worn synchromesh or a worn clutch. Try double declutching a double declutch from 1st to 2nd 1st gear. clutch in. into neutral. let clutch out.press clutch back in again. into second gear. clutch out again.. If that helps things then it's the synchromesh which is a costly fix if double declutch makes no difference your clutch is on the way out. I Hope this helps you with this .Please Rate Me. Much success and good luck with this . And remember you can always ask me. wutxtye0rjd9d9ekmodqt1eoxkvn9hr9qjz1l3dabggyud7sdgr36czsrfxqenadhnijx9nfayi+sz1sug0aaaaasuvork5cyii=
