If you can turn the ignition off while the service display is up
you hold the set button while turning on the ignition to clear the service reminder on some japanese motorcycles.

2014 Jetta SE My INSPEC light is on, and I go through the process of turning it off. It goes away. I re-start the car and the light is on again! Someone please help if you can! Thanks.

I assume that the car's running OK.?
The inspection light is on to remind you to take it into the shop & have it serviced.
As part of that service, the mechanic will reset the inspection light for the next scheduled service period.
All the turning on & off in the world won't make it go away.
Best of luck.

I've got a yamaha 125/abs 2015 model and my right hand side display is indicating serv oil what does that mean? Is it normal my bike is not even a year old?

Hi, Anonymous ahhh modern technology your service indicator light means it's time for maintenance, oil change, inspection, lube cables, etc. you can do it yourself or take it to a shop. Most SIL's go by time or miles some go by engine hrs. if you want your bike to give your trouble free riding you have to give it some TLC from time to time. How many litres of oil does a 2007 Yamaha Roadliner take?? Thanks Guy

The manual says that the bike holds 5.18 US quarts WITH a filter change. I change the filter with every oil change. If you don't intend to remove the filter, make sure you know your fluid capacities.

The instruction calls for putting in half the oil - 2.6 quarts - into the bike (make sure you replace the filler cap!), starting the bike and giving it a few revs to circulate the oil. Shut off the bike and add the rest of the oil.

When i Turn my BMW 318i on i will see inspection on the dashboard can anyone explain to me what it means and what i should do.

Newer or luxury vehicles have reminder sensors for routine check ups on vehicles after so many miles like oil changes and air filters you will need to find the sequence to reset the light. Also I am not sure about the air bag. Might be a loose, wire connected to the air bag

What is the oil capacity of the 2006 roadstar silverado?

The Road Star takes 4.3 qts which is 4.07 liters.

In my experience, MOST Yamaha engines have the oil capacity stamped either near the oil filler cap, or if it has one, near the fisheye inspection glass.

The best advice I have seen to date states the following: Having replaced and tightened the drain plug, remove the dipstick and puur in half the oil. Note that this bike has an oil tank, so having added 2 litres or so, put the dipstick back in and tighten it. Start the bike and allow it to run for around 15 seconds to allow the oil to pump from the oil tank to the engine crankcase. Shut the bike off and add the remaining oil before replacing the dipstick again and checking for leaks.

Hope this helps. Please rate this solution

How to turn the sevice warning light off after oil change ?

BMW Model E39 built from 1996~2000 will have a port like the one shown below. A Reset tool like a Peake R5 or R5-FCX is needed to reset the oil service or inspection service lights after required service.

1) If you have a reset tool then turn your car key to Position II but do not start the car.
2) Turn the cap counter clock wise on the Data Link Connector and insert the Reset Tool
3) Follow the instructions of your reset tool, different models may have different functions however they all create a short in PIN 7 to PIN 19 for a given amount of time.

  • OIL Service Reset requires pin 7 and 19 to be closed for 3+ seconds
  • INSPECTION Service Reset requires pin 7 and 19 to be closed for 10+ seconds

  • 4) Once done, remove the reset tool and close the cap .
    5) Your dash should light up with green lights at this point.
If the light did NOT reset after the above steps then you might be resetting Oil Service however an Inspection Service is needed.

    Check the oil

There is a small glass inspection window on the lower flange of the clutch cover (r.h.s.)
    Picture of part attached.

Leave bike to cool on the centre stand allowing all oil to drain to sump and inspect window for oil level. It should just cover the window when bike is level. If the window is blackened from oil stains and no oil movement is detected, drain oil, remove clutch cover and clean window from inside with solvent and replace, replace oil with 2200cc oil, Cheers.510a044.jpg
