If you can turn the ignition off while the service display is up
you hold the set button while turning on the ignition to clear the service reminder on some japanese motorcycles.

Service / oil light on dash to remove hold both mode and set button together while turning on the ignition will not work while the bike is already running.

I've got a yamaha 125/abs 2015 model and my right hand side display is indicating serv oil what does that mean? Is it normal my bike is not even a year old?

Hi, Anonymous ahhh modern technology your service indicator light means it's time for maintenance, oil change, inspection, lube cables, etc. you can do it yourself or take it to a shop. Most SIL's go by time or miles some go by engine hrs. if you want your bike to give your trouble free riding you have to give it some TLC from time to time. It is a problem. Some models had faulty wiring which means the service light comes on randomly. The only solution is to disconnect the wire from the service light in the instrument panel. It will never come on again!

It sounds to me like it is in need of a service. I would get a dealership to service it and then advise you on what to do in the future for yourself.

I have a red indicator light on my Display once the engine heats up, does this mean I need an oil change? Or do I simply need to add oil to the bike? If so, then where do I add the oil?

make sure the fan kicks on after it's been at idle long enough to get to operating temp. Also check oil level. Has the bike crashed at all? when was last service done?

Hi, Scoobie8587 here is how to reset/adjust Engine Service Interval (Wrench icon)
Upon selecting this item, there are two possibilities. If the Wrench icon is active, you will have the opportunity to clear it--proceed directly below. If the Wrench icon is not active, then skip over the next section to "CHANGE ENGINE SERVICE INTERVAL".RESET WRENCH ICON:
1. The display shows CLEAr and no.
2. Press and release SCROLL to alternate between no and yES.
3. Select yES if you wish to reset the wrench icon.
4. Press and hold SCROLL for 4 seconds.
5. WS appears in the display.
6. Release SCROLL.
If you selected no, you will not proceed to the next section; the display will revert to the Service Setup Menu.
CHANGE ENGINE SERVICE INTERVAL:
To get to this point, the Wrench icon must not be active or you just now reset it, as above.
1. The display now shows either CLK or km/h (or Mph).
2. The display now shows the number of hours between Wrench icon reminders. The factory setting is "0044".
3.The 2nd digit of the hours value will be blinking:
In addition, the display also shows the Oil Can icon above the word "OIL", and the "CLK" indicator is present. The presence of "CLK" indicates the interval occurs based on time (this can be altered for the Wrench icon, but not for the Oil Can icon).

I Have a BMW K1200GT 2006 and after i change oil and filter the oil check not work normally only OIL------ . Before it vas OIL< like OK Thanks

Hello. Unbelievably the change oil warning light is not resettable without either going to a dealership or owning an expensive "fault code BMW resetting tool". If you do a lot of your own work, the tool may be a good investment. here is a link to purchase one http://www.bimmerzone.com/resettool.htm#2

Just changed oil and filter rinsed around oil filter with brake clean and now engine light is on my bike year model is not listed 2008 road king classic

first off, using any cleaner around your oil filter is a no no......just use a little oil on the seal. try letting your bike warm up for about 10 minutes........check oil level. make sure its not too low.........that should take care of it

Using to much oil on long trips 2004 gsx1400 suzuki

That is a lot of oil - is it blowing smoke? Is there any indication of where the oil is going?
The GSX engine is bulletproof - normally - and doesn't use much oil at all. I have serviced 35,000 mile bikes after 7500 miles and the oil has been spot on.
Looking on the net, it seems the 1400 is a bit vulnerable to oil-cooler damage. With an air/oil cooled bike this could be an indication of where the problem lies. The engine won't leak oil while stationary - well, maybe a drop... but when it is warm and under revs any hole in the oil cooler could be a direct exit point for oil. Look for stains on the exhaust headers - if you are driving and there is a leak, that'll be the first place the oil will go.
It would be the first place I would look - as well as oil cooler, pipes, connectors...
Run the bike for a while and try to inspect it to see if there are any leaks you can spot while the engine is running.
