SOURCE: oil drain plug for 2006 flhrs

The nut is a 5/8 socket, its almost directly under the seat on the bottom of the engine. Best to pull out the dipstick to drain the oil quicker. Use a new washer when you refit the sump plug to prevent leaks.

SOURCE: roadking 2000 flhrci how to

Yes you will have a small amount of oil left in the crank case, but not enough to have any concern about, What I do is drain the oil from the drain plug, pull the oil cap out from the oil resivoir , then remove the oil filter and do it all on the kick stand, that is more than suffiant to drain you oil from your engine. It is the same way a Harley mechanic does it at the shop. Good luck, Rick

Location of the oil drain and oil filter?

There are two drainplugs on the bottom of the motor, one on the left side and one on the right. The filter is a cartridge type, and is located on the lower left of the motor and is held in by two torx screws. Consult your owners manual or service manual for details and pictures. Have fun, and watch out for the mess it makes as it drains!

The oil drain plug is rear side of the oil pan at the center bottom. The attached picture is from 2.4L non-hybrid but they are similar.

(Note that these pictures have brass fumoto valve installed in place of the plug. I am just fancy like that).
