Question about 2005 TVS Victor GX

1 Answer

The dim light went off and only the bright is in use

I usually use to raise the engine for it to come on and when it is on, if I sound the horn it will go off.

pushing the start button dims the lights is a sure indication that the battery is faulty
have it load tested or replace it
charging a dead battery after a 2 year period of being flat causes what is known as sulphation of the plates and the battery will not accept a charge regardless of the charge time.

I have a 1990 Kawasaki Ninja zx11 it will run for

It sounds like your battery is basically dead and the charging circuit is not working. Before you start it, turn on the head light. Is it bright? If not the battery is shot - can you measure the voltage with a voltmeter? If the headlight is dim and once you start the engine it should be bright. If not, the alternator etc. is not working.

My Battery died and when I charged it and took a Ride, my Head light began dimming and then the Check engine light came on and Off and then the Computer light went on and Off.I turned around towards home...

It sounds like your alternator is not able to keep the battery charged. That usually means it needs to be rebuilt or replaced. The battery may or may not hold a charge too but the alternator would need to be addressed regardless.

New battery wont turn over but horn will sound

How many Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) does the battery have? Do you hear the starter solenoid engaging with it's loud click? You didn't tell me what year and model bike you're working on either. When you press the start switch, what happens? Do the lights dim or go out? I need more information. A horn doesn't take much to get it to work. To start an engine takes a huge amount of power.

I get around 1 volt going in to the coil but no spark do i need more than one volt going in what should i check and how 1993 DT 175

Is your bike a one volt bike or a 12 Volt DC biker?
1. What state is your battery
2. What state are your wirings from battery to coil
3. What states are your wirings in overall?
4. How are the wiring connections, are they all tightly connected?
5. Turn on your lights and see if they comes on bright or dim?
6. Press your horn does it sound solid or last breath?
7.If you can unplug your spark plug wire, put the wire about 5 cm from the spark plug tail and see if any sparks jumps, good idea to do it in a dimmed area.
This are just a minor checking indicators as many causes can be the source cause of your problem.

Sounds like the starter, but lets check some things out ok! Usually when a stater makes that clicking noise it means there is some thing wrong with the starter, some times its the spring that engages the starter gear. First I would check the power going to the starter. Using either a test light or an ohm meter check that power is reaching the starter, now you can do this by checking the power wire on the starter while the start button is pushed. If there is power going to the starter then you know it is the starter, If no power getting there than check for in line fuses or possible relays! But my guess is that you are getting power and the starter is malfunctioning! In which case you will need to remove the starter and rebuild or replace. There is a crude procedure you can try if you'd like sometimes the starter spring sticks down after sitting, if you tap the starter on the housing some times it will free up and once the bike is running the heat will straiten it out! good luck if you have further questions please feel free to ask!

883 wont start

The battery might just be done or warn out, if you get lights when you turn the key on, and can honk the horn and everything, then it should click, if you are able to honk the horn and lights etc. and they aren't real weak, when you hit the starter it should tick, if your lights are bright and horn is loud and brake light responds quickly, then I'd ask a Harley dealer about it.

when you charge the battery make sure that its cable is is loosen from the motor coz it can damage your charging system. on your case you have damage it already that's your light dims whenever you rev the rpm up. so change your voltage regulator of your charging system, charge the battery and it is done easy.
