1997 Honda VT 1100 C Shadow Spirit Logo

Does the 2002 honda shadow 1100 spirit have a governor or some kind of limiter because mine will not accelerate past 85?

The engine misses and seems to just cut out when I hit speeds around 80 to 85, but it runs perfect at speeds less than 80. I was kind of disappointed with this and would feel a lot better knowing it was governed instead of having something wrong with the bike.

It's only governed by the sprockets. I had a familiar problem. I rebuilt the carbs and had to bypass the fuel relay. Also if itbackfires need to adjust and replace exhaust donuts

SOURCE: coolant type

That bike came from the factory with regular green antifreeze/coolant mixed 50/50 with distilled water. You can get it pretty much anywhere that sells automotive products.

The only way it should be anything other than that would be if someone has changed it over, which is rare.

SOURCE: motorcycle dies while riding, like gas is cut off

Most likely your high speed needle valve seat has dirt in it. Try removeing the bowl and cleaning the Main Jet.

SOURCE: stator removal honda

There is a tool that is used, it looks like a steering wheel puller or flywheel puller. Loosen the nut, a strap tool is handing to hold the stator still while you loosen the nut. Then using the removal tool, you pull this off. reassemble by tighting the nut. You should be able to get a puller at autozone in the loan a tool program. I hope this helps

There is one more fuse near the battery, check the starter switch on the handle bar if you have 12V coming in to the switch.

What other models parts are interchangeable with my 1998 honda shadow spirit?

That is kind of a generic question. There are loads of parts that will interchange from tires to handlebars to shocks and internal engine parts.
