Transmission bearing? Sounds like a bearing in the Transmission is not getting oil. Whines off and on.

I have known people who have had the same problem,they say to replace bearing or it will get worse and might sieze up the engine

On these engines, the two cycle oil is for lubrication of the crankshaft, rod bearings and piston wrist pin during operation. The transmission is separate from the moving engine components and requires oil for lubrication of the bearings, shafts and gears. There should be an oil port on the top of the transmission case for filling. Some have a dip stick on them and some have a site glass in the side of the transmission housing to visually see the level of the oil.

There is no place to add additional "oil to the engine" as you ask, but as the engine and transmission cases are attached at the base of the cylinder, its easy to see how someone can assume the transmission oil may be engine oil. Its not. The transmission oil also serves duty as lubricant for many motorcycle and 4 wheelers 'wet clutch' assembly as well. Low oil in the transmission could be detrimental to the clutch discs.

Hi my sons got a kx65 iv taken magneto cover off an transmission oil is running into magneto caseing it's 2000 model is it main bearing seals bike starts an runs splutters tho

A faulty main bearing seal on a two stroke engine
can allow the fuel mix into the magneto area
and cause running problems. Transmission oil
should not reach this area at all. Check the seal
and also check for other possibilities like a crack
in the engine cases. Two strokes can be pressure
tested to ensure a good seal.

Sounds like a (going) bad clutch bearing. The only "maybe easy" answer is if you are not using genuine motorcycle oil. Automobile oil has additives that cause motorcycle clutches to either slip, or constantly "drag". Yours may be constantly "dragging". If you're using the wrong oil, try an oil change with genuine oil from the bike's manufacturer. If that works, then search online for alternative ("cheaper") oils that other owners (of the same bike) say they have no problems with. The correct oil will state right on the label that it has NO ADDITIVES. Any oil that doesn't say that, is the wrong oil.

If the transmission is slipping then you will need to replace your clutch plates. you don't say how old the bike is, so this may not be the case. But you should check the adjustment of the clutch lever anyway.

Sounds like a crankshaft bearing knock, the roller bearing about to give up. The other sound will be the transmission gear and bearing.
Expect to have it louder and if it does, it will freeze your engine shut. Thus it will have some more affected parts will broke.

My advise will be to open the engine before some parts will be damage and more payment for the parts & labor.

While driving down the roadway my bike is making a rubbing or grinding noise. there is oil in the bike. sounds like its coming from front sprocket, is there a bearing i can get to to replace?

Yes you could get the roller bearing for the front wheel.
Try to remove the two bearing and clean the side of that bearing, you could see the number type of that roller bearing. Tell the number or bring the sample in the nearest parts store and surely they have that part.
Just remember when installing it back, dip/soaked that bearing to any motor oil for an hour.

That's a tough one since I can't hear the noise. If you noticed that your clutch lever felt a bit different after you heard the noise, it could have been the throwout bearing that pushes on the clutch release rod. Check the oil in your transmission. Look on the right hand side of the bike at the end of the transmission. You'll see a chrome end cap on the transmission. It'll have a plug in it that takes a large hex key or Allen wrench to remove. Remove the plug, stand the bike straight up and use the dipstick to check the oil level in the transmission. Do not screw the plug in, just stick it in the hole. The oil level should be between the two lines. If your clutch lever starts changing and the clutch gets where it won't release, the bearing has failed and must be replaced. These bearings are very small and if the clutch cable is not adjusted to have about an 1/8" of freeplay, the bearing runs all the time and will fail. It's a radial bearing less than an inch in diameter. In my opinion, it's a very poor design. But, they don't cost much and they aren't too difficult to replace. If this is what the problem turns out to be, re-post and I'll tell you how to change it.
