Question about 2000 Yamaha WR 400 F

Will not start no spark

Rode to a mates place turner bike off 20 mins latter went to start but nothing checked plug no spark power to on off switch

    My 99 model wont start while hot.

    It starts first kick cold but when i let it idle for a while and turn it off, I go to fire it up again but wont start till its cold.

    I have cleaned the carby thoroughly and adjusted the pilot valve.

    does the pilot have any affect with this problem?

    I have the same problem with a 1988 dr250, it always starts in the morning and will start straight after being turned off, but leave it sitting in the sun (35 degrees) at work for a few hours and it won't have any spark, come back after dark and it goes first kick.

There is a black and white wire near the coil the should be for the kill switch or on / off if you unplug that wire you will bypass the on / off switch.
The CDI unit on the Yamaha often does not provide a very bright spark and it's often very hard to see in daylight. First make sure you replace the plug, second make sure you have it grounded well on a part of the engine. Make sure you have something covering the spark plug hole because if gas comes out of the cylinder and the plug does fire you can ignite the bike on fire. (I know that one from experience). I'd be willing to bet you don't have an ignition problem unless the key is shorted out. Sounds like the bike was running fine until you shut it off and then would not refire, did you try to push start it?
First things first, double check the spark, like I said it's VERY hard to see in daylight.

Rode my bike last summer, stopped at a place to eat and then my bike wont start. It turns over but no spark, what should I check first?

Hi, Harry and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Discharged battery, needs to be 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a "LOAD" test, your battery may show 12.5 volts but has little or zero amps and must be replaced.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting, leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or CDI or electronic control module.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

I have a 2001 suzuki mirauder 800 it wont start all lights are on battery is fully charged its brand new fired right up i rode for about 10 mins shut it off and went to restart and again all lights on but...

I bet it's either the killswitch, the safety switch in the kickstand or the starter solenoid. I used to have one of these bikes and the kick stand switch was a pain...totally removed it.

I have a 2001 vstar 1100 i rode it over 200 miles today pulled over at a rest stop after 20 min of rest went to start it and no power pushed it and it started went 3 miles down road started spudering/

Howdy, I'm not specifically familiar with that machine, If its pre mix oil/fuel 2 cycle then re-check the amount of oil to fuel, if necessary, use a small amount more oil.... a really small amount more.... as to not oil soak the spark plug,
you may also need to check the solid state ignition parts, also make sure they are clean of dirt, and have unblocked ventilation, keeping the ignition modual cool is its long life.....

first things first change the spark plugs and then make sure ya have fresh gas it as well.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, have you checked the 30 Amps main fuse and its holder clips? It would be integrated with the starter relay. The fuse or the fuse holder may have heat related problem(s) causing it to loose conductivity when hot.The fuse may require replacement even if it tests good and/or the fuse holder would need cleaning / crimping. To locate the starter relay (main fuse), follow the battery cable from the + terminal of the battery.

Tgb 101S - no spark

did you try another plug maybe the plug is dead or check fuses there might be a blown fuse or a burnt fusable link
