I have a 94 chevy K3500, last night the charge system light came on when engine rev'd up to driving speeds, extingished when i stopped, the gauge read good and plenty of power to start. today i went to start it and the batt is now completely dead, so dead it would not jump intially. after charging a few minutes it was able to be jumped. now the charge system light does not come on at all, not even with turning the ignition key to RUN prior to starting. do you have any ideas what the problem may be?

Cejck the primary and secondary resistance of your coil - you may also want to check the voltage drop of your battery when your starter soleniod is engaged as well. If the tarter soleniod is starting to go it will pull too much current.

this sound to me like at first I thought it was a fuse, as the problem went on it shifted more toward a weak cell in the battery, if a weak cell sits for a little while the battery will not hold the charge in that cell and that will cause loss of power, "its charge", in tne other cells. you had mentioned you used another battery and it ran great but when the battery was removed, things went wrong. You may check to see if there is water in your battery
